The rooms are big and clean, the restaurant is excellent but the friendly staff is what takes the experience to the very top.

The young lady at the front desk was absolutely delightful...the rooms were clean but very cold and the hot water wasnt so hot. Outside of that the place was close to everything, clean, and safe.

I think service was the most disappointing at front desk and restaurant . The host Also , we ended up going to Riggs for breakfast one morning because the breakfast menu was very mediocre and eating it for 3 days in a row got very old . Dinner menu is not bad but also only if you eat there once , they don’t even offer daily specials that would add a little variety .

Great location for the purpose of our visit. The front desk personnel were very friendly and welcoming at check-in. The room itself was dark, the furniture being black, and dark blue wallpaper. It was difficult to see in the closet as the lighting in that corner was poor. The bed was comfortable and snuggly. There is a nice little market just next door to purchase a quick breakfast or afternoon/bedtime snacks. The Melrose is a nice place to stay.

Location was perfect for getting the Cape May/Lewes ferry. Hotel was clean & staff was efficient. We have been traveling for 2 weeks & this breakfast was way beyond any other one. Clean, fresh & tasty & attendant was attentive and filling dishes before they ran out.
