Nice little hotel right on the beach. Very nice hostess and staff. Direct access to beach and beach front restaurants. Rooms are small and basic. They only take cash so be prepared.

The location the hotel was great, right on the beach. It’s a basic hotel no frills!! Close to nice restaurants right in the center of the town. The room was clean, it was upstairs go up on the outside stairs. The amenities were basic but adequate. It had A/C but we didn’t need it, it was chilly. It would have been nice of there was a comforter! We didn’t ask for a blanket either. It had no front/reception desk, the manager/ owner (?) lived down stairs. There’s no signage of the hotel, we asked at another hotel on the street and he guided us there, the GPS was not helpful. We had a peaceful quiet stay.
Super clean, fantastic service, comfortable beds with crisp cotton sheets, beachfront with a view to die for. Yes, it's basic but it's also very affordable. Absolutely a gem!
A gem in Celestún. We want to thank you Alejandra the person in charge of this spot. You get what you pay for. Rooms are comfortables and very clean with an impressive view of the beach right at your door.
The hotel was not as expected. The people running it (apparently a mother and her son) were very nice. They didn't speak Spanish, which is OK. But the first room they took us to had an offensive odor, so they did give us another room, which wasn't so bad. The room appeared to be clean, but was more like a barracks than a hotel room, with board-like mattresses and a very basic shower. We didn't expect much for the money, but were not impressed. On the other hand, it was right on the beach, so the location is good.
Excellent value for money. The hosts were welcoming and keen to help. This is a fairly simple establishment but the rooms were spotless, with clean linen; everything worked there was free WiFi, hot water and the rooms were well lit. Quiet at night. We had use of the balcony from which to watch the sunset, the pelicans and even a pod of dolphins.
The only change I would make is to add a non slip mat outside the bathroom. I slipped stepping down with wet feet.
My stay was very pleasant. The owner was very kind and accommodating. The direct beach access is an incredible feature. The price is reasonable and the beds very comfy. I'd stay again for sure.

Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities
Very basic room, has stains all over the walls, bathroom was pretty dirty and needs updating. Amenities were lacking, only given 2 pillows per bed, Didn’t provide enough towels or give hand / face towels. No hand soap or conditioner and gave a small 1 pack of shampoo that was also bad quality. This place could do so much better.
Great place. Excellent location. The owner Alejandra is very nice and helpful with anything you need. Great terrace to sit on and watch the sunset. Only negative is the internet can be spotty. Not the fault of the hotel just the remote nature of Celestun itself

Alejandra was an awesome host!!! Very kind and informative.
I felt very much at home. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the beach is just outside your door! Thanks so much Alejandra for a wonderful stay!!! 🙂
We enjoyed the view of the beach and watching the sunset from the balcony. The rooms are adequate, and clean with all of the basic needs.
The property could use some signage from the street as there is no way to know it is there unless you are using google maps.
A simple room in a small 5 room hotel right on the beach. The town of Celestun is friendly to visitors and tourists but not overrun with them. it has a genuine feel of a small Mexican fishing village and visitors intermingle comfortably with the inhabitants. interesting biological reserve adjacent to town has numerous bird and amphibious species, and dolphins can be see swimming near the pier that juts into the ocean where local fishermen and residents gather every day and evening.
A great alternative to the resort town and all in inclusive package type of stay.
Good:
Big room with great air con and plenty of hot water in the shower.
There is private parking for a couple of cars.
Walk out the back door and you're on the beach very close to where the boats leave for the flamingo tours.
Covered area on beach with sun loungers and table and chairs - great for an evening drink to watch the sunset!
Not so good:
Waterproof cover on mattress which made for a bit of a sweaty night's sleep. Other than that the bed was very comfortable.
Simply perfect though took me a minute adjust, but that was the point - a sort of reset from my busy city life. Sleep, eat beach, maybe a kayak/bike trip through the mangroves (see the owner of Cafe Dayad). Not a bustling town when I visited, but not totally quiet, either.
The owner & staff were *wonderful*. Thank you!!! 💯😊
The beaches are not perfect but manage expectations and know that the water is great and ideal for ocean water lounging/swimming - once 5 feet into the not-too-wavy ocean - since the sand leading in is half covered with shells. The ocean remains shallow for a solid 10 meters which is nice. I wish the town would maintain the sand a bit better.
Celestun was more raw and real than a typical manicured vacation town, which takes a moment to adjust to, and which you grow to love but at first was unexpected. It can be chaotic and is not always clean - unlike the hotel which itself is perfectly clean (and amazingly located).
I would love if there was a good way for the guests to have coffee or tea on the property in the morning since Dayad and other spots nearby have unreliable hours.
There are some cute and lovely places to eat in town (3 minutes away) but be weary as many places are sub-par. Also, there are two particularly nice places to eat on the water.
Very few people spoke English and I don’t speak Spanish but I made do and you will too.
Alejandra: thank you!!
