Welcome to the Red Cabin Retreat! Take hold of the abundance of entertainment, luxury, and ambiance of this 6400 Sq. Ft, ski lodge-type home. The log cabin and its ambiance are perfect in all four seasons. Minutes away to the famous Silver Lake State Park and coastal Lake Michigan activities. Amenities include a wrap-around porch with breathtaking views of Silver Lake Sand Dunes and western Michigan sunsets over Lake Michigan, towering stone fireplace in the den, gourmet kitchen needing its next Chef with double-sized refrigerator, large master bedroom and custom bath suite with rain forest shower. Every room holds a unique style with custom made log beds. The lower level contains the incredible entertainment level with a hand-crafted wet bar/pub with beer taps; eleven seat recliner chair in large theatre room, poker table, signature series pool table, ping pong table, and foosball.

The Red Cabin Retreat is available year round for family get-togethers and vacations, as well as special anniversaries, holiday time with the family and other close-knit friends who want to reconnect.

Snowmobilers are welcome! YES, bring them here with only a couple minutes to LP19 trail connecting Hart/Montague Trailhead with miles of local and backcountry trails for days. Fall, gather your crew and get your hunting licenses and enjoy multiple Pure Michigan's public hunting areas very close by.

Annual Group Trip

A larger group of friends (who have found it hard to find accommodations to fit us all in the past) really enjoyed this spacious & relaxing property. Even recently with adding babies & young children to the mix - there was something there for everyone, including sleeping accommodations! The place was enjoyed by all & we will hopefully be back again.

This is my second time hosting several friends at this property and we have again come away with a fantastic experience. Great place for young and old

We had 3 generations of family at this log home and had a great time. The basement has a phenomenal home theater where we watched many movies. There is a fooseball, ping pong and pool table as well as a bar area. Our granddaughters loved creating special treats to serve at the bar. We were able to sled with the kids right on the property. The accommodations are great and was able to easily handle the 14 of us. Nathan is great to work with and works hard to make sure your stay is enjoyable. A+ on this luxury log cabin.

Beautiful home with a lot of entertaining space

The home was beautiful and very clean. The lower level was great for entertaining several guests with several entertainment options. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need to prepare meals including several spice options. It may be beneficial to have a few instructions provided at the home for the high end features in the home such as the theater equipment or the touchscreen shower. Both were wonderful but took some time to figure out. The owner and property manager were readily available and answered questions as needed so that is just a suggestion. The one downfall of our stay was at the hot tub was not working. My group included several young parents and the moms were really looking forward to the hot tub for that relaxation time. The property manager was onsite and informed us of this as soon as we arrived and they were trying to actively fix the hot tub but parts needed to be ordered and would not arrive during our stay. Other than that we felt the temperature of the home was a little chilly at 68 degrees even with the fireplace and space heaters. We contacted the owner and he quickly helped and made our stay more comfortable. Overall, it is a beautiful home and we had a very nice time. I would certainly stay again. We tried both restaurants that were suggested by the host and they were both great as well.

Every bit as good the second time around

The Red Cabin Retreat has something for everyone. The view from the elevated deck looks over the dunes and Lake Michigan in the distance. Room on the property is great for outside activities, games last year we enjoyed sledding on the hill this year the weather did not permit. We found a great hiking area in the Silver Lake dunes just a few minuets drive away. On the inside the home has a wonderful theater room to enjoy. The kitchen has amazing room allowing for multiple people to participate in meal preparation, it is well stocked with all of need pots and pans as well as service dishes to outfit a large group. The purpose of our trip was for a family Christmas gathering the home was beautifully decorated for the season. Our host was a great communicator giving us helpful hints on what the area had to offer and what to expect on our arrival. No disappointments with this property, it is a wonderful home.

Thank you for everything Phil! The wedding was absolutely beautiful we cannot thank you enough! I spent hours yesterday cleaning up the property making sure it was pristine. Send me your email address so I can be sure to text you or email you photos of the event, I know it will be great marketing material for your business if you plan to host weddings here. If you’d like give me a call because I have some suggestions per my experience that may be helpful! The fruit flies were pretty bad which is why I gave you four stars there otherwise the ladies did a good job making it clean for our arrival. The master bathroom shower was malfunctioning quite a bit, everything else worked great!

We rented this house for our bridal party to stay in for our wedding weekend. We were getting married about 15 min away so it was the perfect location and plenty big enough for our bridal party & their spouses to stay with us. Close to “downtown” silver lake where we even went to Craig’s cruisers for mini golf and the adult males that are children at heart to go go-karting. They also loved the amenities downstairs such as the pool table, ping pong, etc. Close by to many food options. A large kitchen area to make our own food and a giant fridge to store our food and drinks for the weekend. Would definitely recommend for a large family, several families, or a group of friends!

Exceeded High Expectations

Given the other reviews and the photos of the property, our expectations were pretty high. But this property exceeded them in every way! The owne is ultra responsive, and the handyman was courteous and really friendly. Beautiful views. Great furniture. Really spotless. Convenient to the area. Exactly what is wanted for a family vacation with a range of ages. Our only issue is the property is getting so popular booking for next year is already very difficult! Kudos to Philip and his team!

The cabin looked even better than the photos and from the back balcony you can just see the dunes and Lake Michigan. It’s a great place for a big group and the beaches nearby were super nice as well.

Great Place and Space

My family and I spent 3 nights 4 days and the place is beautiful we were so excited to come into a place where we could bring our families together. Great communication, easy check in, the only issue we had- it was very cold at night with the heat being set and managed at 70 degrees - with the weather that dropped and us having infants and two elderly women it was kind of uncomfortable- we made up for it with purchasing wood from the groundskeeper - the main floor shower went out and my great grand mother was unable to shower because she could not walk up or down the stairs to the other full bathrooms. The communication with Philip was great- the groundskeeper went out of town during our stay which we were not made aware of until we needed assistance. Other than the few mishaps the time we spent with our family made it all worth it. Would love to book the Red Cabin again in the future, we would just probably prefer the summer- since getting the home to a comfortable temp. If you’re looking for space, gaming room and privacy away from the world Red Cabin Retreat is the place for you.
