This 1,100 square foot, 4th floor condo sleeps four, with one king bed, one twin, one double and two bathrooms. It’s a front unit, with a wraparound balcony. “Beachfront” doesn’t do the view justice. Sitting on the balcony table, you’re only a few feet away from clusters of palm trees, with miles of warm sands and turquoise water spreading out in front of you. Turquoise lagoons encircled by mangroves sit between the ocean and a strip of sand that leads to the shell hunter’s paradise of Sand Dollar Island. No, this unit doesn’t come with your own private sunset, but it sure seems that way as you sit so close to the beach, serenaded by breaking waves, watching the setting sun paint the sky brilliant orange. The other side of the balcony looks out over the South Sea’s green oasis of tranquility, with a heated pool and a deck filled with sun loungers and tables shaded by tiki umbrellas. Paths wind through manicured gardens, alongside hedges and hibiscus bushes, taking you to the tennis courts beside Clam Bay. Another path leads to shuffleboard and bocce ball. The South Seas offers countless other deluxe amenities, like a fitness center, charcoal grills and a social room with daily activities. Reviewer Comments: My husband and I rented this property for our honeymoon in Marco Island. We were impressed by the location and the proximity to the beach. We were not happy with the cleanliness (or lack thereof) of the condo and the quality of the amenities that were offered. For example, the condo had a weird smell upon entering, the towels were dirty and/or stained, the kitchen cutlery and dishes were dirty, and the bathroom floors were dirty. This condo also needs some serious updating...one of the showers did not work at all, the beach umbrella and cooler were broken, the kitchen supplies are very outdated (e.g., the toaster completely burnt my toast at the lowest setting, the pots and pans are old and rusty, etc.), and the blinds are broken/do not close properly. Given turtle season and the requirement to close blinds by 9pm every night, you would hope that the blinds close properly....Overall, we were not impressed with our stay here and we will not be recommending this property to anyone. We strongly recommend that the owner hire an adequate cleaning person for the future and re-invest some money into the amenities offered in this condo. ##### Natalie S. Not sure I would recommend this location for a trip of this nature again, as their wasn’t much for them to do outside of the beach. Condo itself was very adequate for our family of 4\. Definitely was dated and could use some upgrades (old faucets, doors and finishes in bathrooms) however the view from the balcony superseded those minor cosmetic items. My biggest concern was the air conditioning vents. They all where black and you could also see black along the edges of the ceiling. The pool was great. Plenty of seats however did need to claim them early. They definitely enforce the “rules” at the pool as well (no food, no drinks near pool edge or on pool). While it would have been nice to enjoy my beverages while sitting along the side of the pool, I understand the need to keep order. The pool area was very clean and relaxing! However it doesn’t offer much privacy as not a single door lock (bedroom or bathroom) actually works. Finally, the carpet in both bedrooms is old and needs to be replaced. The actual condo complex was nice and well maintained with clean grounds. The pool lady is a bit of a Nazi. It is well equipped with chairs for the beach; could have used a few more beach towels (or at least told to bring beach towels.) The patio has comfortable and plentiful seating. I would recommend a new mattress for the master bedroom and the carpeting in the condo is very worn and stained. Overall, a nice place to stay. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is my first poor review so I will try to be as accurate as possible. This unit was disgusting, period. Everything in the unit smelled like cigarette smoke. The listing said the unit next to this one was a smoking unit however I am not convinced that this unit was not a smoking unit at one point. Upon arrival and entering the unit for the first time, the smell is overwhelming. The unit was also not cleaned or "professionally" cleaned as they described. There was hair, dirt and sand all over the bathrooms and floors of the unit. There was only 1 working light in the kitchen and living room and the toilet paper holder was falling off in the master bathroom. We immediately called Marco island vacations who manage this unit for Airbnb but got little help. The cleaning crew they sent did a quick once over in the bathrooms but that's all they did for cleaning. The cleaning crew did not vacuum or clean any part of the obviously dirty floors. We had to vacuum after they left since it was apparent they were not going to clean the floors. The sheets in the bedrooms had to be washed by us due to the fact they weren't changed or cleaned. We had to call Marco Island Vacations to replace the lightbulbs, change the filters in the AC unit and hallway unit due to the smell of smoke only to find out the unit next to this one is a permanent resident who smokes. The smell just permeates the entire end of the hallway and vents. We asked to be moved immediately to another unit in the building but were told NO. Marco Island Vacation made no adjustments or even offered anything for our dissatisfaction. It was a very unfortunate and unpleasant experience for us. We had to clean the unit, wash sheets upon arrival, call for basic maintenance and keep the windows and doors open to air out the unit. The only positive was the view from the balcony, sorry that's it. Upon leaving, my kids were glad to leave the smelly condo. Weather was perfect and condo was situated for watching the beautiful sunrise and sunsets. Condo was nicely furnished and convenient to Pickle Ball courts, beach & pool. Apr 7, 2017 #### Great view, comfortable condo, just one problem Everything is great about this condo except for one problem: There are smokers next door, and the ventilation must be inadequate in this building. We smelled cigarette smoke all the time. Like, serious, constant, cigarette smoke. We had friends come over and they couldn't even stay, it was so bad. We got used to it, but it would honestly keep us from coming back. Tell me these neighbors are gone, or the ventilation is fixed, and I will rent this unit every time for the view, layout, comfy couches, etc. Please have the building DO something about the ventilation! ##### Amy S. Reviewer Comments: We love the Unit and most everthing works well,but there are a few things you should know,The toilet are not ADA height, the air conditioner fan is very loud and make a pulse sound, the balcony tables has been broken for years, look at the picture and you can see the broken piece next to the rail, the balcony chairs need cleaning, the sofa couchions are shot and the fabic need replacing. We bought TV table for the unit and left them there, for next year. the bathroom vanity is upgarade and facets too. the kitchen is fine and there are enough dishes, cup and glasses. The overall appearance is good and the wrap around balcony gives you lovely views. The master bed is very nice but the covers are too heavy. The sheet need to be updated too. I am requestihng that these issues be addressed by the owner so we will see what they do to make it worht the dollars they charge. ##### Jane Susan F. Reviewer Comments: We have been to Marco Island several times over the years and had always stayed in a local hotel. We decided to try a condo rental this year. The experience was easy and convenient and dealing with the rental agent was simple. The unit was clean, with a good location near our favorite restaurants. The one drawback was the length of the walk to the Gulf, manageable, but a bit of a hike to the water. We did have a great view of the Gulf and great sunsets nearly every evening. Pool was always clean. We were a bit disappointed with the early check-out time, 10am, and with a later flight that day, we had a more time than we would have wished to wait around.
