Then a visit to Hunter River Retreat is a must! Perhaps a picnic on the mountain with a loved one, bush walking on our many trails, spotting local wildlife including our kangaroos and wallabies or feeding our farm animals interest you, then picturesque Hunter River Retreat is for you. Hunter River Retreat is situated on 110 acres and approx. 2 hrs from Sydney, 15 minutes from Maitland, with boutique wineries close by and the main Hunter Valley wineries approx. 30 minutes away. Full Day Bus Winery Tours can also be organized that pick up from The Retreat - you can taste and not worry about driving. The Olive Cottage is a private fully self-contained studio style cottage with queen sized bed and a large triangular spa bath in the lounge bedroom area along with a separate bathroom.
