Two vehicles on a single track bridge don’t fit. The N4 is a long long road from the north of Madagascar down to the capital Antananarivo and the airport home. We were the wrong side of this accident with a flight to catch. This is were our driver and 4-wheeled drive were invaluable. Before we knew it, he was off across the river with our kids in the back, past the other vehicles already stuck in the rocks, and up the other side! Only the males are black. This was a lone pair of females that were not part of a larger group. We were also fortunate enough to see a group of 12 about 30 minutes later. This area of Madagascar is so poor that any money from tourism helps support the conservation efforts.
