"While many of the reviews we read about Redwood were glowing, we found the property to be fairly run-down with a scary, pot-holed filled 2-mile one-track “road” to the hotel. Very surprising that Redwood doesn’t maintain its main road to better standards & a big negative for us. The people who staff the hotel are nice & food was ok. (Breakfast better than dinner.) But unfortunately, we can’t recommend it due to the access and overall maintenance issues mentioned above."

"A stylish, warm and welcoming retreat to come back to after days out. Lovely bathrooms, and long views across the loch. Well located to reach most of the ‘must-sees’ on Skye. Very dog-friendly."

"This was such an idyllic place to stay in Skye. The view was incredible and the inside was beautiful too. Iain gave us all the info we needed well in advance and even left us a lovely note and snacks as it was our honeymoon. Being able to do laundry was a huge plus too! Would absolutely love to stay at The Byre again."

"It was a clean room however the bathroom had issues with the toilet needs to be changed old too slow to fillup had plastic bottle in tank to help with filling tank !!!! Makes lots of noise No one around exceptin the morning for breakfast door entry very hard to unlok and lock Service of the room on demand staff in the morning very nice and helpfull"

"We absolutely loved our stay at Hame on Skye. The property has a lovely casual atmosphere that mirrors the views. Our room was well appointed, breakfasts were fantastic! We had the haggis, Florentine and bean selections, all were equally delicious. The gathering room was cozy and comfortable offering intimate seating and group seating and the view from the restaurant was unmatched! Staff & owners were incredibly friendly and professional."

"This was a beautiful property - once we actually found it. A hand drawn map would have been extremely useful as Google Maps was useless. Thank god we ran into some locals who helped us out. It was very late and we drove in circles for way too long on tiny roads trying to find the property. It was very clean and welcoming. Loved that we had a washer. Really wish we knew there was no hair dryer. Also the tv was broken and you could only tell once you turned it on. I also had a trouble with the shower. Maybe I just didn’t know how to properly work it but I could only get hot water to come out. Very comfy beds and I loved that we all had ensuites. The location was good if you are checking out Dunvegan etc. We needed to leave very early the next morning so the location was not ideal but we didn’t realize how tight the roads were and how long it would take from one spot to the next. First time to Scotland! Overall beautiful property."

"My only regret about staying here is that we didn't stay longer!! The property is stunning. I could have spent the whole stay inside, but there's too much to see on Skye. Grace was an amazing host with excellent communication and tips. I can't wait to come back to this property and stay longer!"
