Great base for Loughborough Uni, lovely village for a walk. The room was spacious and quiet. Breakfast was good but started a bit late on the weekend at 9am. We also ate in the pub and both meals and service was excellent. Some comunal areas affected by the builders but generally cleanliness was good. The staff were very friendly, breakfasts and two evening meals were very good. The room fine but in the bathroom I would have liked a shelf or a surface by the handbasin and a grab rail in the shower even though the floor was non slip. Stayed in the newly refurbished Louis room - it was fab. I would rate this excellent but Mon-Fri breakfast has now been downgraded to a continental one and it was OK but not the best. Very carb / sugar based ('normal' sliced bread, cereals, fruit). Tea was weak as was the coffee. i would recommend you add in yoghurt, meat, cheese to ensure some can have a protein based start to the day.
