Everything went well. Our view of the ocean was beautiful. The proximity to the beach and ease of getting little kids back and forth from the beach easily is the main reason we stay here. I also like how everything is funneled into a communal space with the pool, the grills, grass running space, etc—it creates a very positive vibe. Great location. We will probably try Sand Cay again when we have more time to actually enjoy the resort itself but I’d most likely book a different unit. It’s great staying somewhere that provides beach chairs etc. This particular unit has an amazing view, great patio, very quiet. We arrived late and it was super easy to get our stuff but finding the unit in the dark for the first time was not (maybe some signage would help or there is some at the stairs and we missed it?) It has small bathrooms and uncomfortable beds (and personal preference we prefer the bedrooms/bathrooms to be more split up and not on top of each other) and the kitchen is super awkward (hard to explain until you start looking for cups). Honestly, if they updated the beds I would give this unit another try because the other things are minor. ##### Chellsea D. The location is central in Longboat key and about equidistant to the Bradenton and Sarasota egress points. Traffic was a problem going towards Bradenton for most of the day. The units are Clean and efficient for a small group and well stocked. There are multiple views available including Gulf front, gulf view etc. There are only a few units with a direct front view of the gulf. Please check out the website and familiarize yourself with the layout to know exactly what view you want. There are always enough beach chairs and gorgeous views of the setting sun. Bayfront park is close by and we got a spectacular Sunrise across Sarasota bay. Wonderful front desk staff, easy check in process. There are also multiple recycle bins within the property .
