HABITARE Àstricu — Salento Home Rituals

Just a short walk from Porta Napoli, HABITARE Àstricu is a late 19th-century residence where you can experience Lecce at your own pace. A home entirely at your disposal, for up to four guests, featuring original cement tiles, barrel vaults, wooden doors, and natural light.

The restoration has preserved the home’s character, blending contemporary comfort with traces of its history. Every room invites you to enjoy a little ritual: making coffee, reading on the sofa, cooking with fresh market produce, or sharing a glass of Negroamaro upon returning from a walk.

BEDROOM AND SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS

The house features a bedroom of approximately 25 m², with a 170 × 200 cm double bed for two people and a private en-suite bathroom.

The living room, separate from the bedroom and approximately 25 m² in size, features a double sofa bed that can accommodate two additional guests.

The layout therefore includes a double bedroom and two additional sleeping spaces in the living room. Bedding and towels are included.

ROOMS AND AMENITIES IN THE HOME

The living room is a space dedicated to relaxation, reading, and conversation, featuring restored details and furnishings chosen to complement the life of the home.

The dining room, approximately 18 m², is the social heart of Àstricu. The pantry evokes the tradition of Salento living, while the dining table invites guests to share a leisurely breakfast or a dinner prepared together.

The fully equipped kitchen, approximately 12 m², allows you to plan your stay independently and bring to the table the flavours discovered in the city’s shops and markets.

• Private bathroom accessible from the master bedroom.

OUTDOOR SPACES AND PARKING

The house features a private Astricu solarium, an outdoor space of approximately 20 m². This is the spot that gives the home its name—where the house meets the sky—an invitation to take a break and slow down the pace of the day.

The living area includes a private covered parking space, located about 40 metres from the apartment. This is convenient for exploring the Salento region by car and experiencing Lecce on foot.

LOCATION

Àstricu is located at Via di Vereto 4, about 50 metres from Porta Napoli, outside the restricted traffic zone (ZTL). The historic centre is just a short walk away: narrow streets, churches, shops, and restaurants become part of your daily life during your stay.

The location allows you to alternate days in the city with excursions to the villages, countryside, and coastline of Salento.

EXPLORE LECCE AND THE SALENTO REGION

From Àstricu, it’s just a few steps to cross Porta Napoli and immerse yourself in Lecce’s historic centre. Winding through narrow alleys, courtyards, and Baroque facades, you’ll reach Piazza Duomo, the Basilica of Santa Croce, and Piazza Sant’Oronzo, where you’ll be captivated by the artisan shops and the intricate details of Lecce stone.

The city centre offers traditional taverns, restaurants, wine bars, and small spots for an aperitif. We’d be happy to recommend our favourite spots, where you can sample Salento cuisine and discover local wines.

To get to know Salento through its people and flavours, we can recommend experiences that require reservations and a fee: olive oil tastings, visits to dairies, and cooking classes. Among these is our experience at the host’s home, dedicated to Lecce-style “sagne incannulate” and the preparation of fresh sauce, to be enjoyed together at the table.

By car, you can explore the villages of Grecìa Salentina, visit Galatina and Nardò, or head to the Adriatic and Ionian coasts. We’ll help you choose itineraries based on your interests and the time you have available.

When you return, the sunny àstricu awaits you for a break outdoors and to enjoy the evening atmosphere overlooking the city’s rooftops.
