Gorgeous historic B & B with lovely hosts, delicious family-style breakfast, and great location for antiquing!
My husband and I loved our stay at the Brownstone Colonial Inn. Our hosts were very warm, friendly, and accommodating. They clearly love what they do. This is a beautiful bed and breakfast with clean comfortable rooms. We enjoyed a family style breakfast and conversation with the hosts and the other people staying at the inn. We also received great recommendations on places to visit and eat. We will definitely keep the Brownstone Colonial Inn in mind should we return the Pennsylvania for another visit.

Delightful, clean, quiet, comfortable room with the most kind and welcoming owners.
What a blessing to find this beautiful historic place in northern Lancaster County. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the care in restorations was evident. Breakfasts were filling and delicious. The thing we enjoyed most was the wonderful conversations around the table with the hosts and other guests.
Never stayed in a bed and breakfast, this was one of the best time we spent on vacation. I highly recommend doing this, the views are incredible, the people are so friendly ! We absolutely loved it!!!
The whole area is wonderfully peaceful. The Inn was particularly so. The hosts were lovely, caring people who have poured their hearts into making Brownstone Colonial Inn a place or restoration and rest.
This bed and breakfast was a beautiful home in a very quiet and peaceful setting. The interior and exterior of the home was authentic colonial style. Very clean and inviting. The homemade breakfasts every morning were amazing! Brenda’s cooking and breakfast options were excellent! She took such meticulous care of the home and the daily breakfasts. We cannot wait to return to this oasis!
Incredible home and very relaxing atmosphere. The Millers very gracious and helpful. It is a very quite area. The breakfast was a gourmet treat. Beautifully appointed suites that were very comfortable. The antiques are restored for useful perposes. We'll certainly return and recommend to friends.
I had a wonderful experience in this historic inn. The entire property was beautiful and I stayed in a unique room with antique furniture. I was served the best breakfast experience I’ve had at a U.S. Inn. It was home cooked, delicious, and so much better than continental breakfast. The host Brenda was very welcoming and accommodating.
Country like setting but close enough to restaurants. Hostess was super friendly. Very comfortable and homey. Definitely more “Colonial” experience but quiet and welcoming.
It's in all the house that's was renovated beautifully to keep the old charm intact. I love that the bedroom had its own bathroom the bathroom was modernized. This surroundings were extremely quiet. Very charming stay. I would do it again
Brenda and Mark are incredibly gracious hosts and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. Our room was very comfortable with all of the creature comforts and the icing on the cake were the delicious breakfasts- homemade, hot breakfasts including fresh ingredients from their garden! The house and the grounds are absolutely beautiful and Brenda provided excellent recommendations of local areas to visit and dining options. Thank-you Brenda and Mark for a lovely stay- we hope to visit again!
My mother and I stayed at the Brownstone while exploring Amish country. The feeling from the moment we walked through the front door was incredible. Mark and Brenda are top notch hosts!! We stayed in the Shaker Suite which provided the feeling of being together but gave us the space of two separate bedrooms. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and Mark opened each meal with a prayer. The guests we met were repeat guests and having been to Brownstone, I can now say I understand why people come back. We can’t wait to visit again!
5 Stars!!! My husband and I have stayed at numerous B&B's (some outside the U.S.), the Brownstone Colonial Inn tops them all. Brenda and Mark are the "Perfect" hosts. The accommodations are clean, very comfortable, and love the colonial Inn's "period" style furnishings. The gourmet breakfasts were delicious and Brenda accommodated my gluten intolerance by making the bread, as well as homemade yogurt and using produce from their garden, including peppermint for the tasty Peppermint Ice Tea. The best B & B!!!
It's lovely inn but lacks real locks on the doors to the suite. I did not feel safe. There's not very much parking.
The owners are quite lovely. I did feel a bit awkward when the owner insisted on prayer before the breakfast. I am not of the same faith as Brenda but felt the praying was mandatory.
The food was great and the grounds are lovely. The location is a little more rustic than I expected.
Overall, it's a nice place if you are a conservative Christian.
What a beautiful place! The outside of this historic home was perfectly manicured and the colors of the trees and flowers blooming added to the spring vibes. Brenda was so welcoming and took time when we arrived to tell us some history of the home and the area. She had local menus for dinner options and, knowing that we were there for a weekend of antiquing, had a brochure with all the local spots! Our room was charming, and my the bed was comfy. Breakfast was amazing, too, and we sat with Brenda and her husband Mark and shared stories. We had to leave before breakfast on the last day, but Brenda made sure we had coffee to go and some fresh fruit and bread for our drive home. Despite the beautiful landscape I didn’t see an outdoor lounging spot, which would’ve been nice, but there might have been one though I didn’t ask. That wouldn’t deter me from returning, though! Highly recommend this gorgeous home and its owners!!
Absolute wonderful stay with great host, great surroundings and lovely and quiet. Beautiful rooms with a home cooked breakfast.
