Lake Josephine Tours and Activities

I found the staff at the front desk to be personable and helpful from the the time of check in to the time of check out. Our room was clean, bed and pillows clean & comfortable. The room was stocked with towels and essentials, and coffee as well. The staff at the boatique,The Sandbar and the Black Fins Riverfront Grill were personable ,and provided great customer service. The food was also delicious and prepared well. Another part of our stay included a River Cruise with Captain Joe, and 1st mate Laura. Not only did we see Manatees, Dolphins, Blue Herons, Turtles and Alligators, but we were provided with the history of Indian River, it's inhabitants both human & animals from years gone by. We were provided with a rich history by Captain Joe & 1st Mate Laura which made this cruise both fun & enlightening. Captain Joe would stop when he saw the wildlife so we could take pictures. Many thanks to the staff and the whole experience my husband & I had for our 44th wedding Anniversary at Captain Hiram's. I highly recommend Captain Hiram's Resort. We will be back.

Sebastian Salt water lodge, marina, restaurant and bar happen to be one of the best hidden gems of Sebastain Florida. If someone is looking for clean accomodations, activities, restaurant and bar on site and a well maintained property and marina with an attentive staff that feel like family and understand what true customer service mean, this is the place! Its quite and comfortable. Home away from home. The marina itself is a great way point for fuel, ice and respite. The food at the restaurant is amazing, the bar is refreshing and the view is even better. Watching the wildlife on the Indian River such as manatee, dolphins, birds and the abundant fish with the gorgeous sunrise is something that shouldn't be missed. The additional benefit of having a marina which provides excellent charters by Captian Jimmy or the attached business Just in time that caters to boat rentals or jet skis make it even more enjoyable. The property is a stones throw from the main city of Sebastain a multitude of activities, parks, sanctuary and a museum. Sebastian Inlet state park is just a short drive. This quite town with friendly inviting smiles was extreamly refreshing and a memorable vacation experience. We will absolutely be returning.

We had several issues with the only suite in the hotel . The central air conditioning was not working( this was late July in central Florida) they used 3 noisy widow units which could not compensate for the afternoon heat, there was a rainstorm in the evening, the larger windows and the door leading to the balcony of the main seating area leaked, the blinds over the same window were missing pieces and did not operate, there was a hole in the ceiling over the spa tub, and the furniture was comfortable. There was also an art piece laying up against the wall in the corner that needed to be hung on the wall. The room looked a bit unfinished. We were to be there 2 nights, we only stayed for one. We paid suite prices for a very budget experience.
