La Pointe Lodging features four separate lodging suites. Suite 3 is located on the first floor and the entrance has a shared deck for taking in the view of Lake Superior across Main Street. Suite 3 features an open living area with a king bed, a bathroom with shower, along with a convenience kitchen (no stove top) including a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker and toaster. Directions in the room said to wash the dishes, strip the bed and separate the sheets and blankets. This seems unreasonable considering the high ā€œhostā€ costs added to the room rate. The school itself had sold out of its rooms on their property so I needed to look for my own accommodations.The Suite Three at La Pointe Lodging was just perfect, only one block from the ferry and a quick 1-1/2 mile drive to the Madeline Island School. The room was bright, clean and spacious, the bed was very comfortable.
