The room was clean the bed was comfy the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel sauna,hotub, and pool were great the gym looked good all was very clean. The hotel its self needs a bit of TLC and is basic but its in a great spot and we would stay again.

Breakfast is buffet style, but good. Scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, mushrooms, canned tomatoes, baked beans; also croissants, toast, cereals, yogurt, some fresh fruit. Staff were courteous and helpful. Room was clean. The hotel is in a nice setting, but while updated in some areas,appears a “little tired.” Good onsite parking! Convenient walking distances to shops in Kendall town centre.

The staff were excellent and the breakfast was okay but the bathroom and bedroom were in need of attention (eg mould in the bathroom, a chunk out of a pillar and a window that was impossible to keep open without clambering onto the windowsill....!). But Kendall is a very convenient place to stay for trains and buses.

It was a very tired hotel. Needs a birthday big time. Bed was uncomfortable and pillows were too soft. There was yucky smell as you walked in which wasn’t very welcoming. Bathroom size was good and shower was also good. It was too hot and we worked out that was probably because of the indoor pool connected to the hotel. We had the window open all night and also a fan on and it was still too hot. Not worth what we paid.

Stayed here a few nights after arriving from the US before moving on to other areas in the Lakes. Excellent location in the heart of Kendal convenient to restaurants and shops. Enjoyed a nice hike right from our door along the river and up to the castle.

I'd particularly like to thank Sharon at the reception desk > she was so helpful on arrival and very pleasant. The parking was easy and the room was spotless, even the breakfast was very nice. We actually stayed about 8 years ago as well. A place I will come back to if we were staying in the Lake District again.
