The house sits just 50 feet from the lake with a large deck and beach area for small children. We are approximately 3 hours from NYC. Come relax and appreciate the fresh mountain air and enjoy the peaceful serenity of the lake and its surroundings. Enjoy hiking, fishing, swimming, and relaxation or watching the eagles. If you love fishing there are small and large mouth bass, pickerel, sunnies, perch, and catfish. Fish from the shore or on the kayaks or rowboat included or just explore the lake. We are 30 minutes from Oneonta, Cobleskill, and Delhi. We are 45 minutes from Hunter Mountain, Ski Windham and Cooperstown. The accomodations were perfect for our group, the view of the lake from the deck was spectacular and the fishing was the best I've had from any house I rented. We had a great time at the ball field but at the end of each day, we were all excited to head back to the "lake house". We spent most of our downtime fishing (catch and release!) and relaxing by the lake, enjoying the beautiful scenery. We enjoyed watching bald eagles and great blue heron fly around the lake. There was quite a bit of seaweed in the beach area but once we spent some time clearing it out, the water was beautiful and refreshing. One warning, the path/road that leads to the house was a little treacherous with dips and divots from recent rain. If you drive a low sitting car, you’ll want to be very careful so you don’t bottom out. The property is absolutely gorgeous, (as well as huge!) and really gives you the feeling of "getting away from it all". The foliage in October is fabulous, and there's so much wildlife to see that we never experience in the suburbs - a bald eagle, a snake, even a porcupine! There are kayaks and rowboats to take out on the lake for fishing, and a great fire pit right next to the lake.
