![This is just a day trip from Port Blair (Andaman) to a popular island called Baratang, that goes via the restricted access Jharawa forest (named after one of the oldest tribes of Andaman). This is a beautiful walk over a wooden pathway in between the mangroves and lush green trees towards the limestone caves.

Tip: rent a cab, start early morning at 3am as you need to go through check post that opens at 6am with a long convoy of tourist vehicles. Ride through the forest is an amazing experience. Remember not to click any pictures in the forest nor to stop your vehicle as it isn’t allowed for safety reasons. The tribe could be dangerous sometimes. "When we reached the hotel they moved us to a different hotel. They said that we do not have enough rooms here and they told us to go to Orient resort which was around 1 km away from there. ![This is just a day trip from Port Blair (Andaman) to a popular island called Baratang, that goes via the restricted access Jharawa forest (named after one of the oldest tribes of Andaman). This is a beautiful walk over a wooden pathway in between the mangroves and lush green trees towards the limestone caves.

Tip: rent a cab, start early morning at 3am as you need to go through check post that opens at 6am with a long convoy of tourist vehicles. Ride through the forest is an amazing experience. Remember not to click any pictures in the forest nor to stop your vehicle as it isn’t allowed for safety reasons. The tribe could be dangerous sometimes. From a value perspective, Silver Sands delivers exceptionally well. The setting is outstanding, the beachfront lagoon is remarkable, and the panoramic views are genuinely awe-inspiring. The location alone justifies serious consideration. Operationally, the staff performs at a high level — attentive, responsive, and consistently professional. Service quality is a clear strength. That said, the property shows craftsmanship gaps in certain construction and finish details — particularly in carpentry and masonry — where higher standards would materially elevate the resort’s overall impression. The primary weak point is the food program, which falls well below the level set by the location and service quality and deserves immediate improvement.
