Grand Bend Vacation Packages

We got there an hour early before checkin, we messaged the contact we were given, they said we could check in early for $25 extra! We were going to use the pool but it was packed, only to find out it’s a public use pool and anyone can use it if they buy a drink. We seen under age 16 kids enter and not buy. We mentioned to the manager, he said let them be it’s the end of summer. There was no room in the pool area for paying hotel guests. The area was all outside people using the chairs, etc that were provided. We told the manager and he said that’s not his problem that we can’t use the stuff. We asked for our money back and he said “no!” As we booked through Expedia. All in all, this was the worst managed hotel I have seen, and I’ve seen many across North America ( working). Customer service is last , $$$ is all they are looking for. Never book here…

Our room was very clean and overall was a good experience to stay at Amber Hotel. The property is located in walking distance to Main Street and the beach resort with ample parking space for guests driving to this place. Room for improvement: You would hardly see any staff present - only one bored person at the front desk who checked us in and disappeared later through the day and was never back and so the day after when we were checking out around 10:30am. There is no elevator at this hotel. The public areas / amenity space are not well maintained: everwhere was dust, public sitting area carpet was dirty with spider webs behind the chairs and the staircase was covered in dried mud and stains. All this could be simply improved by doing a simple one-hour cleaning through the day! The room [windows] backed to a wooded land and was very peaceful at night time before noisy nextdoor guests came in. The walls are quite thin and you can hear the loud guests easily nextdoor. There were construction debris left all along the backlane behind the building which made it unsightly to look down.
