Joseph Stalin, former leader of the USSR, was born in raised in a small town called Gori, Georgia.

The picture here is of his the small home where he spent his formative years.  Although the rest of that neighborhood was demolished, his home was saved, and entombed in a structure to protect it from the elements.

« Facility is basic, and we encountered a power outage from late afternoon to about 9 pm in the evening. Without power, water was also not available. With very limited English speaking skills, the staff were very nice and kind and tried their best to help 👍 The breakfast was also very simple. With the price we paid, a much higher quality of staying was expected. »

« Very nice hotel in a wonderfully remote location – something worth noting, as there are no restaurants nearby and everything requires at least a 20–30 minute drive. For us, this was exactly what we were looking for, and part of the charm. The facilities are quite new and very comfortable, with a large, comfy bed and a spacious bathroom featuring a fantastic rain shower. The pool area is lovely, and the sauna and hot tub are available upon request. The views are stunning. The on-site restaurant...

« the hotel is conveniently located in a walkable area and well designed. the staff is friendly. we ordered the hotel specifically since it had a spa. however, it did not operate in our 2 day stay and we were not informed in advance or during our stay. only when we asked we were told that it's in renovation. we asked if there was any arrangement with another hotel so we can use their facilities as a courtesy. the front desk manager tried to help and updated that we can visit a neighbor hotel sap...

« Beautiful new hotel in Bakuriani. Clean large rooms, friendly and helpful staff (excellent English), easy location walkable to many restaurants and shops for snacks if needed. Very nice rooms with great views of the mountain (stayed in #503), parking included. Coffee and water in room was greatly appreciated. Location is a bit hard to find since it’s not on Google Maps yet, but the Google Plus Code (copy and paste into Google Maps) is: QG3H+VP Bakuriani, Georgia. »

Joseph Stalin, former leader of the USSR, was born in raised in a small town called Gori, Georgia.

The picture here is of his the small home where he spent his formative years.  Although the rest of that neighborhood was demolished, his home was saved, and entombed in a structure to protect it from the elements.
