The garden is absolutely beautiful (with lots of wildlife) and the lodge feels so homely. I loved that the lodge also had some personality and reminded me of holidays with my family when I was younger - I absolutely loved the more retro decor! The room was also clean and had everything you could need. Lots of space to sit back and forget about everything. If you get the chance - definitely eat in the restaurant as the food is lovely. The Owners were very friendly and welcoming. The Room was clean and tidy. The location was peaceful and quiet. I also enjoyed a nice meal at the onsite Lodge Restaurant. Room with a view of the garden and river, just lovely. Dinner at the restaurant of local produce and regional wines- delicious! We return almost every year to Gipsy Point lodge and always feel it is a special place. The furniture was dark and not very inviting, and the carpeted floor gave a somewhat worn impression. The shower was ok, and the Wi-Fi worked surprisingly well for such a remote location. The rooms are poorly insulated, but the heating function of the air conditioning quickly warmed the space to a comfortable temperature on cold September nights. During our stay, the hotel appeared to be managed mostly remotely, with staff only on-site for limited hours. The much-praised restaurant was unfortunately closed, which was a bit disappointing. Huge room with a beautiful outlook. Heating & electric blanket - which we needed! The restaurant was opened especially for us (we were the only ones there as it was mid winter) & we had the best steaks we’ve ever had). Very comfy bed.
