Everything about this trip was perfect. The house is incredible. I had the best night’s sleep as it was so quiet. The amenities are excellent with a well-appointed kitchen, lovely music listening, and more.
This place is way off the highway, incredibly quiet and clean as a whistle. If anything brings me back to this area, I’ll absolutely book this place again.
THIS was exactly what my husband & I needed! The peace & quiet was cathartic to both of us. We LOVED the cabin & it was indeed a Fortress of Solitude in the most beautiful way! We were truly able to disconnect from our hectic jobs & responsibilities & simply BE. And yet, we ate dinner Wed night with nearby family members at the Homestead Steakhouse, and it was wonderful-both the company & the food. We will definitely return; hopefully for longer stays. The property itself was clean & well supplied. Super comfy bed & there was plenty to watch on TV if you choose. I highly recommend this property & I'm not the easiest to please!! It was GREAT!
If you like nature, the fortress is for you. Completely out in the woods with no neighbors in sight. This is a wonderfully relaxing place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. The fortress is nicely laid out. I especially enjoyed the upstairs study / television room ,screened in porches and being surrounded by nature. We enjoyed it very much and will return.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Fortress of Solitude. The name fits it well. The 30 acres provide fabulous privacy and make this a great retreat when you just want to get away from it all and be surrounded by nature.
The house is small but does not at all feel cramped. The concrete walls and floor have a lovely finish, not the typical one-dimensional gray. Furnished are tasteful and comfortable, decor is warm and appealing, and necessities such as cookware, dishes, paper towels, and toilet paper were supplied sufficient for our two-night stay.
We enjoyed exploring the woods and finding a nearby creek. The autumn colors were a feast for the sight, and the sounds of nature were great for the soul.
If you're looking to retreat from civilization and just rest and relax, I highly recommend Fortress of Solitude. We'd happily return for a longer stay next time.
.... I enjoyed it immensely * .. Thank You !
* except for the ominous presence of deer hunters ...
btw, your check out time needs updating ... it says after 11am instead of before
