Room was lovely but struggled with the pillows.
Breakfast was phenomenal.
The spa seemed pointless. A small pool, so sauna or steam room.
Would come back
Such a gorgeous property!!! We stayed there for 3 nights and hardly left. We ate at all the restaurants, including High Tea. We had such an amazing time. We will be back!
We had a great weekend at Ashdown Park hotel for our anniversary! Definitely recommend having a treatment at the Country Club. The Anderida restaurant is special, fantastic food but pricey- we knew this before we went. The Forest Brasserie was a bit disappointing, the menu wasn’t that exciting and the drinks are overpriced. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The grounds are stunning. Would definitely recommend
We had a superb stay. The staff are fantastic - helpful, friendly and excellent service. The food at breakfast and dinner was delicious. Highly recommend.

Liked: Staff & service
We chose the hotel for its geographical location and proximity to friends and family on our visit to the UK. This property is very old with lots of charming period features and is set in spacious, lovely grounds. If there had not been a drought, they would have looked absolutely wonderful.
The age (19th century?) prevents its rating exceeding 4 star.
Our junior suite had been pleasantly furnished some years ago. The bathroom had been fitted out very attractively years ago, but the plumbing was in need of modernisation. ( basin taps worn out, shower dated with poor flow and the aqualisa thermostatic control was tricky to set correctly.
The staff were all very obliging and helpful (when I needed some business documents scanned and printed. )
The restaurant staff were very pleasant and welcoming.
The breakfast selection was excellent. The fine dining restaurant was very good indeed.
We were obliged to eat in the brasserie on the evening of our arrival. The food was poor.
We enjoyed our stay at Ashdown Park Hotel
The hotel and especially the grounds are beautiful. If I had known how far away from reception and more importantly the numbers of stairs I had to climb to get there, I would have accepted the proffered carrying of my bags to the room. I enjoyed my stay, the barbecue we had outside was excellent, although one of the guests had to carry the fizz outside herself from the chapel, where it had already been poured. My room was very hot being on the top floor and the fan was useless. Luckily I was able to open a window. The bed was comfortable, but the plumbing was terribly loud and took ages to stop after you had finished your shower.
I appreciate the friendly, accommodatung staff and the comfort afforded in this classy country house hotel. Our room was comfortable and the dining experience memorable!
The spa was extremely relaxing.
Thank you!
Staff were attentive and polite. Room was a bit too hot for sleeping. Breakfast was excellent quality but the high end restaurant was expensive for the quality of food. Also only had 3 options for children which was not great. Swimming area was lovely.
The grounds are beautiful, the staff are great! We had breakfast which tasted good! The spa was relaxing but there is a bit of wear and tear in places.
Overall it was a lovely night away - one thing to highlight: the bed and pillows are very soft, we usually sleep on a firm mattress and have fun pillows so we don’t sleep well and woke up a bit achey; but this is very subjective. Also the hairdryer in the room was really weak so being your own if visiting or use the ones in the spa’s changing room.
Lovely stay at Ashdown Park. It is a peaceful comfortable hotel. The rooms are spacious, with lovely smooth bed linen and fluffy soft towels. The staff are exceptional - attentive and extremely helpful, in reception, concierge, the lounge and the restaurant.
This hotel is the goal standard. Management from other hotels should come and visit it. From beginning to end the service engagement with well informed and genuinely welcoming. It’s a very interesting historical setting. When they say they are dog friendly, they genuinely are.
