About this property

fewo1846 - Nordwind - Vacation in a historic mill for up to 2 people

  • The “Nordwind” vacation rental in the historic St. Johannismühle combines the unique charm of a historic Dutch windmill dating back to 1808 with modern living comfort in a Scandinavian style. In a quiet yet central location, you’ll stay in a lovingly renovated building with a unique atmosphere—just a few minutes from Flensburg’s harbour and downtown.

This stylish apartment is located on the first floor of the historic mill and offers ample space for two people across approximately 40 m². Massive wooden beams and the distinctive architecture of the old windmill bring the building’s history to life, while the high-quality furnishings and extensive renovation completed in 2025 ensure modern comfort. Underfloor heating, high-speed Wi-Fi, and tasteful furnishings create the perfect conditions for relaxing vacations or extended stays.

The open-concept living and dining area invites you to linger. The modern kitchen is fully equipped and features, among other things, a ceramic cooktop, dishwasher, microwave, and coffee maker—ideal for cozy breakfasts or relaxed evenings spent cooking. A special feature is the Quooker, an innovative hot-water dispenser that provides instant access to boiling water for tea, coffee in a French press, or a stiff grog. The separate bedroom offers a pleasant retreat, while the modern bathroom with a walk-in shower provides additional comfort. Bedding, towels, and a starter kit are already provided. E-bikes or bicycles you bring along can be stored safely.

The sheltered terrace overlooking the historic millers’ houses is particularly lovely. Here you can enjoy relaxing moments outdoors—whether over breakfast, a glass of wine in the evening, or a cozy barbecue in the garden area.

The vacation rental’s location is ideal for exploring Flensburg and the Flensburg Fjord. Shopping options are right nearby, as are restaurants and cafés. The historic old town, the harbour, and numerous sights are all within easy walking distance. In addition, the Baltic Sea coast, sandy beaches, and bike paths along the fjord invite you to enjoy active days on vacation. Excursions to nearby Denmark are also ideal from here.

The combination of historic charm, modern amenities, and a central location makes the “Nordwind” vacation rental a special retreat for couples who want to experience Flensburg in a unique way.
