Proximity to the river side is its only redeeming feature.,though the staff were pleasant enough. Book for a night only if you're sceptical , then see if you require more. Great value for the money. Pay the extra for a deluxe twin room like we did, which is larger than the double. Our room also had a great view of the river and partly of the ocean. Not too far a walk from the beach and markets. Only issue they did not tell to turn on the switch for the hot water. Nothing fancy they did have a TV a nice window with a view of the river and the City, and it was within walking distance of a couple Backpacker area bars and restaurants. The staff did not speak very much English but they were super helpful. I booked a tour of the caves in the national park nearby and it was cheaper than other hotels in the area. The room is nothing special a bed a cold AC a TV and a bathroom. Nothing super fancy or elegant but it was clean and the price was right I think I paid $9 a night. The hotel offers many things laundry tours just about anything you can think of. The staff was super super nice though. So if you want to No Frills no fuss cheap place to stay book this hotel. The town of dong hoi doesn't have that much to offer a few markets some nice food a couple western bars to grab a drink or play some pool. The true gem is going to the national park and exploring. Book a tour through the hotel you will not be disappointed. It is a little expensive compared to other things in Vietnam but it's well worth the $50\.
