Meadowlark, a delightful and unique Catskill Mountain Cottage. Extraordinary

  • This cute and carefully constructed mountain retreat features 3 Bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms and one half bath, furnished with all amenities. Master bedroom has queen bed ground floor, TV and private adjoining bathroom. Second bedroom has full size bed. Upstairs loft has queen bed. There is additional hidden sleeping loft with 1 twin bed accessible by an attic ladder. Fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, and mudroom entrance with coat closet. There are two separate dining areas, one in the great room and another small one in kitchen/dining area. Living room has a rustic fieldstone fireplace with gas logs and a quick start remote control, and a large Flatscreen TV above fireplace. Cottage has Wireless high-speed internet and cable TV, as well as Efficient Monitor oil fired heating system. There is a/c in master bedroom as well as one centrally located in great room. Nice Sunny deck, outdoor grill & outdoor fire pit. Private road and driveway. VERY LARGE lawn. A sunny, private spot with no neighbors on a six acre property.
    Beautiful views amidst a rolling meadow and large spruce trees. 5 miles to Margaretville. 4 miles to Roxbury. Halcottsville pond a mile away for kayaking and fishing. Enter private road from State route 30. Trout fishing on the East Branch of the Delaware river 200 yards away.
    Meadowlark has outdoor security camera facing driveway for safety.

Nice little cabin!

We really enjoyed our stay in Susan’s cabin. She has been very responsive and very helpful. The house is pretty close to the main road so we can hear a bit the traffic, but the view remains amazing. Great location for hike lovers.

Perfect home base for a long ski weekend

We had a lovely stay at Meadowlark for our first ski trip of the season. The owners made check in easy and the house was exceptionally clean. The kitchen was well equipped and the house is within minutes of a decent gocery store. This was important for us as we cooked all of our dinners at the house. We are definitely looking forward to our return visit.

Country living at Meadowlark

Small cottage like home with amazing views, cosy, warm, very quiet, and very clean. The owner was contactable throughout our stay answering all our questions and providing recommendations. I’ve travelled the world and spent a lot of time in hotel rooms, the property provided those small touches like a hotel, you can tell the owners take a lot of pride in what they do. Lots to do locally in the area or just sit outside the property star gazing and enjoying the views. We will definitely go back!

Cozy Cottage

We stayed here during a very cold 4 day period to go snowboarding at Belleayre. The cottage was very warm in 6 degree weather. Proximity to the mountain was 15 minutes and also to Platekille. The cottage was very clean. Susan was a great host and communicated daily to ensure our stay was pleasurable. The property itself was awesome for the kids 12 & 9 to go sleigh riding and even myself the 47 year old Dad lol! Our Dog loved the property too. Thanks Susan for a great trip!

Our lovely Catskills stay at Meadowlark

My husband and I stayed at Meadowlark for 5 nights. We had a great time. The cabin was very spacious and was clean. Check-in was easy, and when we arrived, a welcome packet with easy instructions for the house and check-out along with great suggestions of places to go and things to do and see in the area, were waiting for us. The surroundings are beautiful, and quiet, and private. Very picturesque. Susan made sure to check-in via text to make sure everything was okay. She and Jonathan were gracious hosts who also gave us our privacy for the short escape to a home away from home we needed. We hope to come back to stay again soon. Thank you, Susan and Jonathan.

Great Family Vacation

We stayed at Meadowlark with three kids between 7 and 10, three adults, and two small dogs for a family ski vacation at nearby Belleayre. The cottage was perfect for our group. The kids stayed in the loft beds and loved having their own space (might be challenging for adults to sleep in the lofts), and the three adults split up among the two bedrooms. Despite its compact size, the cottage had everything we could possibly need. Terrific communication from Susan, the owner. We would definitely stay again! Only challenge was finding places to eat for dinner -- many of the restaurants were either closed or very busy. Might want to plan ahead for meals by bringing in groceries or making reservations ahead of time, if possible.

Great Cottage for Plattekill Wedding

We stayed at Meadowlark Aug 7-11 for an Aug 10 Plattekill Mountain Wedding (2024). The cottage was absolutely adorable and perfect for my husband, my Jack Russel Terrier, and me. It was easy to find, clean, fully stocked with plenty of toiletries and kitchen essentials; full laundry capacity, plenty of parking; far enough off the main road to feel safe/secure; owners was amazingly accommodating, responsive, and helpful. Because it was August, we wanted true air conditioning and the cottage has this in the MBR and main LR - worked great! Another plus is it's very close to the Fresh Marketplace store, which surprisingly has a huge selection of specialty foods (ex. gluten-free, lactose-free, etc.) - huge props to that store! We'd highly recommend staying here!

Awesome place

Excellent location, the place was nice and clean, if we needed to contact Jon and Susan they would answer almost immediately and they were very nice. There were a lot of places around where you can have fun. If you need an escape from reality this is a perfect place.

So So Lovely

First I will begin by saying how CLEAN this little cottage is! I went with my husband 3 kids 14, 11 and 3. Property was huge. Plenty of places to run around. Beautiful little pond which the kids loved looking for frogs and newts. Anything better than them being in the screen! The owners are so amazing. We arrived one screen was a bit broken. We had someone there within 10 minutes with screen fixed. The home is equipped with everything you need (bring your own umbrella) tons of towels and linens and cute little lotions soaps like a hotel. my son is 6ft tall and had a bit of a hard time getting up to sleep in the loft but who cares they’re kids plenty of other space. He slept on the little couch in living room and was super happy and comfy. I stay upstate twice a year and have been everywhere this is a gem will definitely be returning. Thank you Jon and Susan.

Tranquil Catskill Cottage

My group and I had a fantastic time staying at this property. The home comes stocked with anything you might need (other than the food), there are walking trails to a stream & pond on the property, and the nearest town is only a 10-minute drive away.

Fantastic Family Getaway!

This was a wonderful place to stay with a family. The owners were very responsive even before we booked, answering our questions. During our stay, they communicated with us and quickly answered any questions we had. The actual property was so cute. A tiny cottage with a wonky layout that makes it very charming! There are 4 different beds (2 of them up ladders into loft areas) that my kids LOVED. The fireplace was cozy and provided lots of heat (in addition to the private heaters in each room and the main house unit). There is NOTHING that this house left out. It is fully stocked - honestly you could just come with a toothbrush and some groceries and survive just fine! All of the towels and linens, as well as extra blankets were provided - all pots and pans - coffee makers - EVERY. THING. Even materials for a bonfire were available if you forgot anything! There were games and flashlights for nighttime activities - and the small pond in the back was the kids FAVORITE. It was full of tadpoles and newts - the kids spent hours catching newts, naming them, racing them down the dock and watching them gently jump back into the water. The Saturday farmers market at the big red barn is only a mile or so down the road - we bought local cheese and jellies and baked goods for lunch, and brought a big basket of the largest most delicious veggies you’ve ever seen to bring home with us. You can’t go wrong booking your next quiet getaway here. Highly recommend!

Beautiful location

We enjoyed our time at the cottage. Great location for exploring the area. Perfect for those looking to relax and enjoy some time away from…well, everything. For anyone looking to get a little indoor exercise, there is a beautiful gym with a pool in Arkville (Catskill Recreation Center). We paid a day rate and swam some laps there. It was lovely! House was SUPER clean! Recently updated bathrooms were so very nice. Lots of towels and extra blankets (if you need them). Now, back to the cottage….Really nice stackable washer and dryer in the master bath. Worked great! As some of the previous reviewers have mentioned, the house has a bit of a quirky layout, which is mostly fine. Small bedrooms downstairs but really (REALLY!) comfortable beds. Plenty of room underneath the beds for luggage storage. There is not a lot of sitting room for watching tv if you have more than two people. Two on the sofa and one in the window seat was how we worked it (there were only 3 of us). I think if you wanted to, you could see the tv from the loft just above. The views around the house are lovely! Lots of room for our small pup to play outside! Excellent communication with Susan. She was very quick to respond to any and all my questions.
