The best time to visit Hochfeld is during the dry season, from May to October, when the weather is consistently pleasant and wildlife viewing is at its peak.During these months, the daytime temperatures are mild, typically ranging from 20 to 25 degrees Celsius, making it comfortable for outdoor activities and safaris. The evenings are cooler, often dropping to around 5 to 10 degrees Celsius, so packing warmer layers is advisable. The lack of rain means the vegetation is sparser, and animals congregate around water sources, making them easier to spot. This period is ideal for couples and families looking to experience the region's natural beauty and wildlife without the challenges of heavy rainfall or extreme heat. The shoulder seasons, April and November, also offer a good experience. April sees the end of the rainy season, with a green landscape and fewer tourists, though there's a slight chance of lingering showers. November marks the beginning of the short rainy season, which can bring dramatic thunderstorms and lush scenery.
