There are few options for lodging in Davis, WV. Last year, while traveling through the area, I snubbed The Alpine Lodge because it looked (and is) old. I chose Bright Morning Inn instead and endured two days/nights with no hot water and a very uncomfortable bed. The lodge is centrally located between Blackwater Falls and Canaan Valley as well as they have the best food in town on site at the Saw Mill. They have the most amazing homemade bread and biscuits we had to get some to take home with us. It is not a fancy place, but staff were pleasant and it had everything we needed while in the area to enjoy our favorite band that was playing at the Purple Fiddle in the neighboring town of Thomas. We had breakfast Sunday morning at the Sawmill restaurant.
