Danbury Vacation Packages

I don’t typically write bad reviews but this was so much worse than I expected. The first and most offensive was the intense smell of cat/animal urine. The room itself was dirty, the walls and carpeting are caked in years of visits. The light on the bathroom didn’t work. The shower was dirty. The pool and any other amenities were not accessible and that room is being used as storage. I don’t know if the other rooms are improved or renovated but this room (#1) was not updated in the slightest with not even the bare minimum effort of new paint or linens. The price of this room considering the complete lack of effort to invest into the space is completely offensive. We stayed here for one night, but we definitely did not sleep.

Overall, we had a good stay at the hotel. We stayed for one night with 3 adults and 1 child. The only disappointing things were the pool, which was advertised as heated but the water was pretty cold, the bathtub that wouldn’t hold water, and the shower pressure, which was very weak. Other than those issues, everything was good and we enjoyed our stay.

This is a unique property. There is no staff to help you check in. It is a self-checkin. This was disconcerting. Many travelers came in, looked for someone to help them and were walking around the property, enjoying the unique rooms and amenities, but having no one to coach them on how to get to their rooms, was, depending on how tired and ready to relax you were, a challenging start to the stay. Luckily, a fellow traveler, more knowledgeable than I, helped me sign in, check my email, get the code to open my room, and showed me the applications I needed to use to get to our assigned room, which was in a different property, next door. In the room, there is no thermostat to control the temperature. The room was small with a bed, two bedstands, a bathroom, a refrigerator. There were no luggage racks. The luggage was on the floor. There were no hangers in the closet - just a bar. The temperature in the room was way hotter than we are used to when we first came in. The building is about 100+ years old. There were some grates in the floor where the heat came in. The first night the temperature outside was about 34 and the room did not heat up. We climbed in bed with all our clothes on, added the towels and jackets we brought with us and could not get warm. The second night, the room was so hot I was in bed with just boxers. It was way too hot. We did not get good sleep either of the two nights. Other than that, the property is unique and fun to see. Without sleep

The location of the hotel is great. Cross the street is the outlet mall and Market Basket. Nearby have various restaurants. The hotel itself was renovated last year so looks very new. Inside hallway and room are very clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is okay. The only thing we don’t like is the loud noise when you flush the toilet, especially at night when people are sleeping. Otherwise it’s a very good stay.
