No hot water in shower. Breakfast was just bread and mermelada. Good central location. Beds were comfortable. No heating in rooms. Did not give us coca tea upon arrival. Way cheaper if you book same day rather than in advance. (We felt like we got ripped off).
the place is good, the lady at front desk was responsive and prompt. Just a Suggestion, the owner to provide
1) exhaust ventilation for toilet
2) possibly a small heating unit per room
3) possible coffee maker and hot water container in lobby
4) more towels
Booked for five nights and extended for two more. Ideal base to explore Cusco. Quiet, secure and the staff (the manager is a Google translate expert) could not have been more welcoming and helpful. There is an oxygen bottle in the foyer to assist acclimatisation. The room was comfortable, there was hot water and the wifi was excellent. The accommodation is close to all amenities and once you walk to the end of the street it’s a straight line to Plaza de Armas past San Pedro market. Would happily stay there again.
This is a reasonably priced, family run hotel in a convenient part of the city. Be aware that there is a very significant difference between rooms. I did not like our first room at all, as it had no outward facing windows, was always rather dark, and had an unappealing and cramped layout. However, we asked to change rooms and really enjoyed the layout, the large window and sunshine during the day. If you stay here and don’t like the room you are offered, ask to see other options.
Fizemos a reserva nesse hotel, pois havia bons comentários.
Hotel Colquewasi is run by Mr. Wilson and his family, who also live on the premises. It is a boutique hotel and while it does not have every amenity offered by large chain hotels, Mr. Wilson will provide everything you could ask for. We asked for extra blankets, room heater, hair dryer, laundry service, etc. - and we were never denied. My child had bit of stomach upset at night and Mr Wilson and his family rushed to help us without even asking, bringing us medicines, teas and infusions and stayed with us until my child was feeling better. We don't speak Spanish and they don't speak English, however, that never never seemed to be an issue. My child made friends with Mr Wilson's children and we connected to his family more as friends than merely as guest/hosts. True testament to Peruvian hospitality, warmth and helpfulness. For facutal purposes - rooms and bathrooms are a bit on the small side, amenities and breakfast basic and no elevators (but Mr Wilson will carry your luggage up and down!). But, for the price it can't be beat in terms of location, comfort and all basic needs. All kinds of tours and taxi bookings can be done with Mr Wilson at better than market price and with his unbiased opinion on what might work best for you.
