It was nice staying at a place that felt like a family owned hotel - I was driving along old Route 66 and this added to the trip. The property was clean and some of my fellow inhabitants were some of the most interesting that I met on my trip, interesting in a good way - nice people who stopped to talk and wished you well on your journey. Getting to the room it was clean and basic, but the heater sounded like it was going to explode every time it ran, the small refrigerator made a constant grinding noise, just made for a long night and we were only in the room for less than 8 hours. The hotel listing says it has a breakfast, but that is a huge overstatement. There were no muffins, fruit, donuts, etc. There was stale cereal, one english muffin (I have a family of 5), little debbie honey buns, and a waffle maker. Motel (doors are all facing the parking spots, all one level) was very clean and very tidy; showed signs of amateur repairs: ceiling had been patched, but not repainted, door jamb paint was a totally differrnt color. Service was good. Another improvement could have been a little thicker bed spread or extra blanket - but not a big deal. Complimentry breakfast is very basic but this is expected from budget motels which was very comfortable is all other aspects. There a few decent eating places in the immediate vicinity.
