  • Now with Wi-Fi! Looking for a place to take heart? That is what the owners did when they built Livin' the Dream. Located on a hilltop with a view of the valley below, this setting confirms the alluring attraction of Brown County. However, should you need to leave this four-bedroom, three-bath custom log cabin, the town of Nashville is just six miles up the road, with Brown County State Park being even closer.

    So many amenities and custom features make this a comfortable and fun spot to relax, recharge, and create lasting memories with family and friends. This cabin is loaded with design elements popular on all the DIY shows and constructed by local craftsmen using local materials. The house accommodates up to ten guests with a fully equipped kitchen, a living room with comfortable seating, a fireplace, and a 55" TV. A pool table, air hockey, and foosball table, along with 500+ movies and board games, are all part of the indoor entertainment. All bedrooms have TVs and DVD players. Suppose the beauty alone is not enough to invite you outdoors. In that case, you'll find 150 feet of covered deck, outdoor games, outdoor seating, hiking trails, and wildlife viewing. In addition to the four bedrooms, there is also a sofa sleeper available for use.

    This cabin sits atop a hill at the end of an elevated driveway. Although a four-wheel drive isn't needed, please downshift at the bottom of the driveway.

    Our cabins are located in the beautiful woods and countryside of Brown County, Indiana. While we provide routine professional pest control and keep our homes clean and well-maintained, guests may occasionally see seasonal pests such as mice, flies, lady beetles (Asian beetles), or stink bugs — especially in the fall and spring.

    These harmless insects are part of life in a rural setting. We do everything possible to minimize their presence and appreciate your understanding as part of the authentic Brown County experience!

    ALL EVENTS, DAY GUESTS, AND PARTIES ARE PROHIBITED WITHOUT PRIOR WRITTEN APPROVAL FROM PROPERTY MANAGEMENT.

    Base rate for this property is set at 4 people, each additional guest will be charged $30 per person per night.

The home is so clean and has everything you could need for time away from your home. We stayed here to have a weekend with our whole family, part of which was staying at their lake house on sweetwater. We were all able to gather for meals here and split for sleeping. It was a wonderful, restful stay. Thank you!

We had a wonderful family weekend getaway! The cabin was cozy and spacious. Nicely secluded and the leaves were beautiful. Plenty of room for young children to run and play and we loved s’mores by the fire pit!

Very comfortable retreat!

We had 4 couples staying for the weekend . We were very comfortable during our stay . Unfortunately cold enough we didn’t get to enjoy the outdoors . We would definitely rent again .

Fall getaway

Beautiful wood cabin to bring your family/friends. Lots of space and a fully stocked kitchen. Great little coffee/tea area in the kitchen. Excellent location to both Brown Co State Park and Nashville. Wifi worked well. Very clean and management is very responsive. Would highly recommend!

Terrific weekend!

Beautiful place, wonderful time!

We visited a few weeks shy of the leaves really turning and can only imagine how beautiful it would be then. The house was very comfortable and clean. The property is beautiful. The outdoor firepit is great. At most, we had 9 people (all 60 and older) one night and we were all quite comfortable.

Friends weekend getaway

4 couples had a weekend getaway here! It was so much fun and simply beautiful. The size and layout of the house made things so nice. The downstairs held so many games and puzzles that kept us al busy! We had a wonderful time. The only thing we wish we had was king size beds in each room. We drew names for the rooms since only one had a king size bed. We highly recommend this place and looking forward to next time!

Annual friends trip

Beautiful location. Very private. Lots of room to spread out. Spent one day in Nashville browsing in the quaint shops. Went to lake Monroe the other day. We had a great stay and would definitely stay at Livin the Dream again. We never had to communicate with the property manager so hard to rate.

Graduation home base

While the house is 45 minutes from Bloomington, it is an easy and beautiful drive. A great home base for the family for Graduation weekend. The house is exceptionally comfortable. Plenty of space. Comfy beds. Stocked Coffee/tea bar (keurig + auto drip machine). The only regrets are that we didn’t have more time to enjoy the property or charming Nashville, filled with shops, cafes and restaurants.

Livin' the Dream

Loved the property. It was a little far out from downtown, but not so much that it was a real problem. I couldn't receive texts unless I went outside, so maybe the WiFi wasn't working. We loved the deck that wrapped around the house and the game room in the basement. It was a family reunion and everyone had a good time.

The house was spacious and lots to do. We were unable to drive up the snow and ice covered lane. It was difficult carrying everything up and down the lane. The hot tub kept blowing a breaker so we were unable to use it.

Living the Dream Cabin

We only had 6 people in our group so we did not use the 4th bedroom. 8 or more people would have been very comfortable in the house. The downstairs recreation room was great. We had intended to start a fire in the fire pit but we decided to do other things instead. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots and utensils so that we were able to cook complete meals several of the nights. The only reason that I gave it a 4 star rating on cleanliness was that the oven was not cleaned and I didn't want the owner to think that our group was responsible. I gave it a 4 star on location because it may have been near Nashville as the crow flies but it was up in the hills away from Nashville several miles. I would certainly recommend it to my friends and family who wanted to have a place for a family reunion.

Over-priced, respond is not good. I would not recommend.

Very expensive!!! it is very overpriced with all the fees and there is no firewood around this fall chilly season. the property manager said to bring your own. It is surrounded by woods, so if you like to get away somewhere isolated, it is a good place. The table chair broke down when my wife was sitting, turns out, the leg was glued down. it was waiting to happen. it could lead to a serious injury. my wife is still sore from the fall. told the property manager about it with pictures, but heard nothing from him. if you are going to spend this much money, I would look for another cabin.
