Spectacular sunsets! A long, private pier over the salt marsh leads you to a bay front dock area with shade. It's perfect for crabbing, fishing or canoe and kayak launching. Tastefully appointed and architecturally pleasing, Castlebar features a main level great room flanked by wall of beautiful custom windows and high cathedral ceilings. The views of Chincoteague Bay are priceless. The open kitchen area features ample counter space for meal prep, and the large harvest dining table is perfect for gathering the whole group for a meal. There are hardwood floors, and a two-sided fireplace that is shared with the adjoining cozy den. The first floor also features a full bath and large bedroom that looks out on the bay. The second floor hosts the primary bedroom suite, containing a private bath with separate shower and whirlpool tub. A sliding French door leads out to a balcony providing more views of the bay to enjoy. Two additional bedrooms and full bath complete this floor. Amenities also include a private, full sized outdoor shower, wireless internet service, additional under-counter ice maker & more. This is predominantly because this property was so great. Pictures don’t do the back yard justice. We loved watching the water birds hunting every morning and enjoyed spectacular sunsets each night. The property is in great shape and has been recently and nicely renovated. Great neighborhood. We really loved going out on the dock and hanging out on the screened-in porch. It was perfect for our family as we enjoyed staying in for our meals. While most of the house looks great and is comfortable, the carpeting needs to be replaced ASAP. It's pretty bad, and it is a shame since it is such a nice property. The cleaning procedures seem a bit over-the-top (vacuuming, unloading the dishwasher, etc.) especially since you have a cleaning fee. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay. ##### Ashley L. For starters, there's no king bed. Also, there's four, not five, bedrooms. There's a den with a sofa bed... but that's not a bedroom. So, we might consider renting the property again... if we're getting what we think we've paid for. ##### Brennan H. We spent lots of time out on the dock. Kids we’re swimming and crabbing and clamming all day. You need to bring or buy paper towels, toilet paper and paper napkins. In fact we only had two very minor issues with the stay. Mosquitos, which no one can do anything about, and but second was all the dust on most of the vents and on all the ceiling fans. Unfortunately it rained almost the entire time we were there so we were not outside a lot. Did find several piles of dog mess that we almost stepped in. Some of the dishes, pots and pans had to be re washed. The deck was slippery from moss. This being said we were still very satisfied with the accommodations.
