A perfect base to enjoy a seaside holiday, this unusual detached property was formerly two railway carriages and many of the original features are still in place including the heavy carriage doors, windows and arched ceilings. The holiday property has its own private enclosed front garden; external steps lead to the entrance and large covered balcony terrace where alfresco dining can be enjoyed overlooking the stunning panoramic sea views. Selsey has a good array of shops, pubs and restaurants, freshly caught fish of the day and leisure facilities. Chichester is about 15-20 minutes’ drive with its beautiful cathedral, festival theatre, cobbled streets and Goodwood Races. The South Downs and West Wittering beach are also within easy reach. The historic naval Portsmouth with Spinnaker Tower, designer shopping, exclusive dining and day trips to the Isle of Wight is within easy driving distance. Discover scenic walks, sailing, fishing, birdwatching, cycle routes and riding and golf locally. Shops, pubs and restaurants 0.75 miles. External stairs to entrance. All on ground floor: Living room. The only way into the property is via a flight of seven open tread wooden steps. This may not be an issue for many but while we managed them with care (it was raining and getting dark) neither of our dogs, who are normally quite athletic, wanted to climb them. We had to carry them up but they wouldn’t settle in the house and had to be carried down again to the garden. In fairness, we gather from the owner that nobody has mentioned the steps as an issue previously, but for us they ended our visit. ##### Denis W.
