"The room was clean and comfortable. Yea and coffee provided. Plenty of space to get ready. Bed was comfortable. We had been out drinking and was a late night the morning after I asked if we could extend our check out time the request was accepted at no extra cost. "What a joke! The hotel cancelled on me right before we were due to stay because of an apparent leak. I think managed to book a different hotel at twice the price as it was so last minute. Hucknall house has now blocked my phone number and I still am waiting for a refund. "

"Excellent hotel, a little walk from the station. The only problem was that we put the card on the door saying having a break. The cleaners came in anyway, and my autistic son had an episode and the police were called. The hotel itself is highly recommended though."

"It was okay for what we needed and the price reflected that. It felt a bit tired and in need of some tlc. We only needed the room for one night after going to see someone at the arena. Great location for that within walking distance luckily we arrived at the hotel early because parking spaces are limited. The room was very compact and so was the toilet and shower facilities, the only refreshments that were available were in the reception and that was quite chaotic due to the small area it was in and the fact you had to pay for a token to then put in a machine so we didn’t bother. They did have a vending machine but it was too crowded when we wanted to use it so again didn’t bother. We didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment on that. So don’t expect anything more than what you pay for and you’ll be fine. "

"Property is obviously the grandest in Buxton and a great looking building and ideally placed in the centre of town. Shared areas in the hotel are fine, but the bedroom was an all too common story of ageing English hotels, with a cheap attempt at a refresh but ultimately poorly maintained and not really living up to the expectations of the price and the rest of the hotel surroundings. Some staff helpful but only the 4th member was actually able to find an extra pillow after the previous 3 saying there were none available."
