I had to search the other rooms for unused towels, shampoo and soap. Reading the other reviews on this property, one may shy away from it. Those reviews could not be further from truth, then what we experienced at the Publick House. This hotel is quaint and has old world charm. Our room was oversized with a separate sitting area with a pullout sofa. All the rooms including the bathroom were clean and well appointed. The staff is quite friendly and very accommodating. Very nice terrace/balcony for guests to sit outside. Although there is no breakfast service, there are Keurig’s in every room that are replenished each day. The staff will also direct you to The French pastry shop or Sally Lund’s, which are both within walking distance. We did not have a chance to eat at PH restaurant, but the menu looked diverse and interesting. This historic building from the early 1800's is loaded with charm. They have history all over the walls. The layout is quaint, with various sitting areas throughout. The room was beautiful and clean. There was a living room and separate bedroom. The bed was very comfortable. They provided a coffeemaker and a small fridge. It was easy to walk to the shops. There is a steakhouse attached. This is an awesome hotel!! The room was absolutely wonderful...huge, beautiful, very comfy, a huge sitting room I did not expect. 2 TV's! I never heard a sound in that room. Wonderful windows with light coming in. I totally recommend this place. Staff is great, restaurant and bar downstairs was great, with good food, friendly bartenders. Best hotel room I have stayed in.
