An inviting single-storey hideaway in Beadnell, this Northumberland cottage is ideal for anyone wishing to be close to the sea. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom property sits in a quiet position less than 1 mile from the beach. Known for its water sports, including windsurfing, kayaking and paddleboarding, horse-shoe-shaped Beadnell Bay is also ideal for paddling in the sea and poking about in rockpools. From here, venture 2 miles to the long, sandy beach at Seahouses and take a cruise out to the Farne Islands to see the puffins. Lace up your boots in Seahouses and walk about 3 miles along the coast to Bamburgh, with its dramatic castle perched up on a rocky outcrop. Plan a day out in Alnwick too, 13.5 miles away, to visit the castle there. This famously appears as the backdrop to scenes from the Harry Potter movies.
Shake the sand from your shoes and step into the hallway to hang your jackets and bags and store your footwear. Make yourselves comfortable in the lounge, where there is plenty of deep seating and ample space for playing family games. Sink back with your book or the remote control to the Smart TV. Switch on the wood burner-style, flame-effect fire in the colder months for extra cosiness. The kitchen/diner is another bright, airy space and has been fitted out with all you require to assist you in your self-catering. There is also a good-sized dining table in here for your holiday meals. As each exciting day away in Northumberland draws to a close, meander through to one of the bedrooms. These include a cheery king-size, with a mirrored double wardrobe and a chest of drawers, plus a lovely twin. There is a family shower room for a refreshing end to the day.
Carry your morning coffee out to sit in one of the seats at the front of the house on fine days. Enjoy the privacy of your lawned garden to the rear, where children can play on the grass. Drink a sundowner out here or in the appealing summer house on balmy nights. There is private, off-road parking for two cars.
