### Outdoor jacuzzi in old town w/ fantastic sea view
A special house awaits you here in the historic center of the old fortress of Castro. It is located on a hillside on several levels and offers various terraces and a wonderfully relaxing garden with a heated outdoor jacuzzi and a fantastic view over the sea and the Adriatic coast of Salento.The house is simple inside but quite unique due to its early 20th century eclectic style. It has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, several living areas, a kitchen and two panoramic terraces. It is distributed over two floors, which are connected by an external staircase.The entrance of the house is on the upper floor and leads to the living area, which consists of two rooms, one of which has a kitchen (with oven, microwave and dishwasher) and a gallery with a double bed. There are also two double sofa beds in the living area; a shower room is next to the living room. The highlight is the large panoramic terrace, which is furnished with tables, chairs and sofas and offers a fantastic view over the different shades of blue of the sea, the sky and the rugged coast of Capo di Leuca.On the ground floor there are two more bedrooms: a double and a triple room (with bunk beds and a single bed); there is also another bathroom with shower and a second outdoor terrace from which you can access the lush garden. This is equipped with a pavilion, a swing, a table, chairs and a heated outdoor whirlpool (max water temperature 25-35 °C depending on the season); the latter is open all year round on request, at an additional cost of €80 for the setup €20 per day. The surcharge includes all water costs as well as cleaning by a service provider approximately twice a week and with every guest change.The whole house, the garden and the mini pool are exclusively available to you and are not shared with other people.In the photo gallery you will find a floor plan of the house.At the lower end of the garden, a small pedestrian gate leads you onto a footpath towards Castro Marina and the sea (approx. 10 minutes). The pretty piazza of Castro just around the corner, several cafes, restaurants, pizzerias and two supermarkets are also within walking distance. The coast of the region is rocky with numerous very impressive bays. The nearest sandy beaches are the beautiful Porto Miggiano (approx. 5km) and Porto Badisco (approx. 14km) as well as the kilometer-long sandy coast of Alimini north of Otranto.Please note that the house has no private parking spaces and that the entrance to the house is in a restricted-traffic area of the old town. You can park just outside the city walls (there is paid and free parking) and walk the last stretch (approx. 100 meters). Sheets, duvets and towels are not included. If you don't want to bring them with you from home, regardless of the length of your stay, you can rent them for €24 per person. Final cleaning is not included and costs €120, unless you clean yourselves before departure. Pets are NOT allowed in this property. We will ask you to pay a security deposit of €600 before arrival. The security deposit will be refunded within 7 days after departure, if there is no damage. Electricity costs (and thus where applicable AC, hot water, heating etc.) are NOT included in the price and will be charged based on your actual consumption. The price per kWh charged to guests was €0,42 on 14/03/2025, when this text was last updated, but as prices are fluctuating a lot, your actual price per kWh will be communicated a few days before your arrival based on the current market price.We decided not to include electricity costs in the rent in order to: a) keep our rental prices stable despite inflation and b) incentivate our guests to use electricity responsibly, helping us to reach our sustainability goals. #### Fantastic view and town (but not ideal)
The view from the upper terrace is fantastic: A beautiful sunset in comfortable patio furniture. The location in the medieval castled town is perfect. The villa is next to one of two piazzas, and also is next to the church. Several excellent restaurants are within a 5-10 minute walk. The clean and swimmable Castro marina is a 600 step walk down from the town. The service was the management team was quick and efficient. Items that make the place less than ideal: all the doors are locked inside and out. You must carry the 9 keys at all times, even to get out of the front door. The one bathroom on the main level is very small and the ceiling slopes make using the bidet very difficult to use. The water heater is very small. One shower every 1/2 hour. The steps to the one bedroom on the main level are steep and small. The garbage collector will wake you up at 6:30 am every day but Sunday. The bells from the church will wake up every day at 7:30. Then they ring several times an hour. In Italy you need 6 different garbage containers. The villa has only 3.(Only 2 burners on the stove worked; the terraces haven't been cleaned in quite a while. There are no screens on the main floor doors, but there are screens on the lower doors. The flying insects were very bad. We had to keep the doors and the one window closed at all times. There are 2 TVs, but the repair guy could only get one to work. There's no way to stream to the one TV. The couch is extremely uncomfortable.)
