### Large villa with sea access (house D)

Nestled in a pinewood forest of 2.5 acres with direct access to the sea, this villa with five bedrooms and four bathrooms offers all you need for a relaxing holiday. You will immerse yourself in a corner of paradise where you will smell the scents of the Mediterranean and listen to seagulls and cicadas interrupted only by the sound of the waves.   
  
This villa is located in an exclusive and unique estate consisting of several villas and trulli, separated from each other by a pinewood forest. It is known as "La Palombara" and was popular with VIPs in the seventies and eighties. At the end of 2019 we rediscovered this heavenly place and we chose to upgrade and redesign parts of it. It is now available for guests that are looking for a hideaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. In the photo gallery you will find a map of the entire grounds. A private path that leads directly to the sea starts directly from the property. On your way to the sea, you will pass some picnic areas with breathtaking views. Once on the rocky beach, you will find four access points for swimming, diving, snorkeling or fishing in the crystal clear water of the Lower Adriatic Sea. Dolphins have been spotted from the picnic areas. (Caution: the path and access to the sea is not suitable for small children or people with disabilities).   
  
The villa is on two levels. On the upper floor you’ll find one large double room with en-suite bathroom; one double and one single room sharing a bathroom; one single room with its bathroom; a kitchen and a large living room. On the lower floor there is a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom. The interior design is simple but functional; there is no TV nor air conditioning, but the thick walls and pine trees mitigate the heat of the summer sun. On the outside there is a shaded terrace and many spaces to relax, immersed in the vegetation.   
  
A rooftop terrace, a barbecue and an outdoor shower complete the picture.   
  
The well-known fortified village of Castro, with its bars, cafes, restaurants and a supermarket, can be reached on foot in just ten minutes. The walk is along a charming path under the ancient Messapian walls. For those who prefer sandy beaches to rocks, the enchanting sandy beach of Porto Miggiano is 5 km away; very charming are also the coves of Porto Badisco and the long sandy beaches of Alimini, north of Otranto.   
  
 Sheets, duvets and towels are not included. If you don't want to bring them with you from home, regardless of the length of your stay, you can rent them for €26 per person.   
  
 Final cleaning is not included and costs €120, unless you clean yourselves before departure.   
  
 Dogs and pets are welcome, if you inform us in advance! Surcharge: €150 for the 1st one, €75 each for the others. Usually max 1 large or 2 small ones are allowed, but exceptions might be possible upon request.   
  
 We will ask you to pay a security deposit of €600 before arrival. The security deposit will be refunded within 7 days after departure, if there is no damage.   
  
 Electricity costs (and thus where applicable AC, hot water, heating etc.) are NOT included in the price and will be charged based on your actual consumption. The price per kWh charged to guests was €0,44 on 06/01/2026, when this text was last updated. Prices may slightly change over time.

 We are obliged by law to verify the identity of all our guests.  Parties, gatherings, events or loud music are not allowed at this property unless explicitly authorised beforehand by us in writing.   
  
 In case the local municipality charges a tourist tax, we will ask you to pay this separately to us and we will transfer it to the local authorities as required by law.   
  
 Please note that, like for all houses in Italy, the power allowance of the house is limited and you might not be able to always use all electric appliances simultaneously. No need to worry: most guests don't even notice this limitation.   
  
 Unlimited wifi is included in the price for normal use. Fair use policies might apply. Please note that we cannot guarantee any specific connection speed nor coverage across all rooms in the building. We're happy to provide more details upon request.

#### Ferien am Meer inmitten von Pinien - vielleicht nicht im Herbst..

Wir haben zwei Wochen Ferien zu fünft in dieser Unterkunft verbracht (Ende September bis Mitte Oktober). Auf den ersten Blick war das Haus ganz okay, doch schon bald bemerkten wir gewisse Mängel. Die untere Wohnung haben wir nicht benutzt (zu feucht und dunkel \[im Herbst\] und die Dusche ist unbrauchbar/falsch konzipiert!). Im EG resp. OG sind zwei der drei Badezimmer sehr minimalistisch gehalten und die Duschen sehr unpraktisch. Weiter hängen die meisten Matratzen durch. Die verbauten Bahnschwellen beim Cheminée riechen sehr stark, selbst der Raumerfrischer konnte dies nicht kompensieren. Die Küche ist okay und die meisten Kochutensilien zum sind vorhanden und in gutem Zustand. Kochherd, Abwasch- und Waschmaschine funktionieren einwandfrei. Super fanden wir die Reaktionszeit der Agentur - jede Frage/Beanstandung wurde prompt und kompetent beantwortet! Zusammengefasst würden wir 3 von 5 Sternen geben :)

La valutazione della struttura sarebbe stata ottima se la stanza seminterrata fosse stata vivibile. Troppo umida per abitarla e chiusa da troppo tempo con relativo cattivo odore persistente. Una seconda cosa meno rilevante ma comunque non secondaria in una casa per 8 persone : assenza di un forno e totale mancanza di coperchi delle pentole e padelle; con conseguente spreco di tempo ed energia elettrica.
