Far from the clamor of worldliness, quiet and still authentic in ways of life, the town of Castelsardo, perched on a rock spur, with its tourist port, overlooks the Gulf of Asinara, halfway between Santa Teresa di Gallura and Stintino. On clear days, very frequent in this area of Sardinia, the view can range from the island that gives the name to the gulf itself, to Corsica, to Capo Testa and to Isola Rossa, a suggestive rocky concretion that rises from the sea near the coast that especially at sunset, takes on an intense red color due to the particular granite of which it is formed. It is here that the visitor can find one of the most popular beaches for the clarity of the water and for the clear and sandy seabed but also, for those who prefer it, rocky. In forty minutes by car, you can easily reach Stintino, the extreme north-western point of Sardinia, with the Pelosa beach made up of white sand, lapped by a sea of unparalleled colors.
