Just nine miles from the seaside town of Bude, this hideaway offers the perfect blend of relaxation and the chance to explore unspoilt North Cornwall & Devon. A car is essential to make the most of this scenic area. The barn combines rustic character with modern comforts, with a luxurious king-size bed for a great night's sleep. Guests have often described the barn as a home away from home, with good Wi-Fi and parking adjacent to the Barn. There's a Utility room next door with washing machine and dryer, and additional freezer space if you need it. Unwind in the peaceful surroundings and reconnect with the natural world. There is a lovely private sunny seating area in front of the Barn where you can watch goldfinches, tits and the occasional woodpecker feeding from the birdfeeders. Depending on the time of year you might see starling murmurations on our front lawn, long-eared bats catching insects at dusk, or hedgehogs late at night. Our black and white rescue cat, Bubble, keeps a watchful eye over the whole farm. Alternatively, take advantage of all the walking opportunities, or explore the surrounding areas. We provide a wealth of information so that you can get the most out of your well-earned break. This includes our own guide covering places to eat and visit, the best local walks – many circular ones from our farm - beaches, and hidden gems. We welcome one well-behaved, adult, dog. We ask dog owners to keep their dog on a lead when outside because the area in front of the Barn is not fully enclosed. The surrounding area is very dog friendly, and you may find shopkeepers offering your pet a treat with every visit! Most pubs and restaurants welcome dogs and nearby National Trust's Sandymouth beach allows dogs all year round. Please note that the Barn is not suitable for babies, infants or children. Although we are no longer a working farm a local farmer uses our organic field for his beef cattle, and we keep a few chickens. It is in a quiet location but very close to the spectacular coastal sights and the coastal path in North Cornwall and North Devon. There are also several walking loops right from the residence around the nearby countryside. It is an excellent spot for birdwatching and relaxing. It is also within a 60-90 minute drive from Tintagel, Dartmoor National Park, and Exeter, in case you wish to venture further. But you will not run out of things to do nearby. Riki was a superb host, providing a wealth of information on nearby sites and communicating promptly. The barn cottage is immaculate and well-appointed. I cannot think of anything I would change about the facility or its environment. We would stay there again at the first opportunity and will recommend it to friends. ##### Terrie A. Communication was excellent with Riki and we were made to feel welcome from the start. Upon arrival, Riki greeted us and showed us around the barn where to find everything. It was equipped with everything we needed and more. We had a lovely welcome pack including biscuits, local honey, organic apple juice and milk. All were good quality products. The barn is next to the farm house, however you do have privacy and a lovely seating area outside. There are also extra garden chairs available. The bed is super comfy and we slept very well every night. The bathroom was lovely with a good shower. It was a great base to explore other areas with Bude beach approximately 20 minutes away. There is lots of information for local and beyond areas. We had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend staying here. ##### Erica C. There is a reason why I keep coming back to Cosy barn I simply love everything about it. I honestly can’t fault it . The barn was beautiful, clean, really large, the most comfortable bed!!! Everything we needed was there. The welcome pack was great, milk, eggs, bread and cookies. The barn was ideally placed for visiting the North of Cornwall and North Devon, we visited so many places in the 2wks we were there. Riki and Martin were brilliant hosts, gave us lots of info ahead of time about the check in process as well as places to visit and recommendations for restaurants. The property was very clean and well maintained, and the location was wonderful; just a short drive to the coast. Everything I wanted or needed to know was in a very handy booklet in the property, and if anything else was outstanding Riki and Martin were easily contactable for further info. As I’ve said in past reviews this is a great place to stay . The barn is spotless and there is everything you need here . The weather hasn’t been kind during my stay but that aside I had a great two weeks here. It really is a good location. Riki is so helpful and friendly.
