We were given no warning of this, just arrived to an infestation. The first night they called out someone to sweep them up and get them out. Then after speaking with the host, they sent pest control to fog the house. While we appreciated this cost to the owner, no cleaner was sent afterwards to deal with the aftermath, so halfway through our stay we had dead ladybugs raining from the ceiling. When we asked the host about it, they said it was too late as the cleaners lived too far away, and it would have to be the next day. But no cleaners came the next day either. The layout was perfect for relaxing and spending time together, and the beds were very comfortable.That said, there were a few small details that could use some attention. The patio hadn’t been cleaned off (there was a wasp nest and it needed a good sweep), and the overall cleaning could have been a bit more thorough. The family room and outdoor TVs were missing a remote, so we had to share one from a downstairs bathroom. A few maintenance items stood out — the LED lights and fireplace in the family room didn’t work, and there was a slight smell from the water that we couldn’t quite place.Additionally, each bathroom only had two towel sets, and there were no hangers in the closets until we later found them all in an upstairs bedroom.None of these things were major, but they did add a bit of inconvenience to an otherwise lovely stay. The home itself is lovely beautifully kept, with a gorgeous water view and plenty of wildlife. We even had deer walk right up to the house, which was such a treat! The beds were very comfortable (which is huge for me when traveling), and I loved that there were two coffee makers a very important detail in my book.That said, I do want to note that when we arrived, the AC was not working well. It stayed uncomfortably warm throughout our stay, never getting cooler than 75F during the day. In the winter, this house would be perfect, but in the summer, with all the windows, the current AC unit just couldn’t keep up.Beyond that inconvenience, it truly was a peaceful and beautiful place to stay.It’s also worth mentioning that it’s about a 30-minute drive to Hochatown, so plan ahead for travel time. ##### Tabatha H.
