"The property is in a great location once you figure out the shortcut . Condo had all the basics and very clean but the best part is the caretaker Abigail! Shes great and an asset to the owner, always checking on us and giving us recommendation ls , she made the it an excellent experience. "

"Pool was full of trash and everything was broken. The "all inclusive" food and drink was 4-5 buffet items and 2L bottles of soda / beer (draft equipment was broken). I've never seen a resort serve beer out of 40oz bottles. Jacuzzi was cold, room was dirty, outdated and in disrepair. Dead tropical plants everywhere. This place is not taken care of... They charge the same as every place around but clearly don't invest anything in keeping the property clean / staffed / in usable condition. The view and the beach are nice, coincidentally the only things not really under their control. We left our two night stay after one night and stayed elsewhere down the beach. Hotel is refused a refund for the second night even though the place isn't busy. Avoid. "

"Beautiful property, full of wildlife. Tried every restaurant, food was great. Amenities are great. They offered us many perks for our honeymoon. Only thing that was noticeably lacking was turndown service. They also did not refill our daily snacks in the mini bar one of the days, even after we requested it. We were charged when we asked for some nondairy milk to have with the coffee pods in the room. Small things to improve upon, but overall wonderful stay. "

"A literal gem in Tamarindo! Outstanding view of the ocean, infinity pool and breakfast in the same area. Also I’m writing this after our trip to CR, and I gotta say the only place that served “real” ceviche (real raw fish) is their restaurant. And the olla de res is amazing! Our room had an A/C leak but the maintenance crew came within 5 mins after I called them. "

"The property was gorgeous and you always saw staff cleaning. I have absolutely zero complaints about the room or property. We stayed on the new side of the property and the decor was very fitting for the resort. For the food, all restaurants are buffet style, which was kind of a bummer because you can find all the specialty restaurant food in the main buffet throughout your stay The steakhouse is table service and takes reservations but it felt very rushed to get through the courses The pools are a massive highlight and honestly so refreshing to be in. There are tables and seating in the pools with the swim up bars, it never took long to wait for a drink, and the cocktails were fruity and delicious. There are plenty of beach activities to look into, the sand is volcanic and hot so definitely wear shoes! If you walk down the beach a bit, there is an off property bar and TONS of monkeys on the way If you don't book through the property and use expedia, you do not get airport transportation included in your reservation. We used LAR and they were awesome, super punctual and professional I went with my boyfriend for my birthday and we are already planning next year's trip The only thing I will say, if you have room preferences that you put in through Riu, make sure to follow up. Since this was my birthday trip I put in a few requests for views and area of property and none of them were met"

"We stayed in a second floor master suite, which was very spacious and had a great view of the salt water pool area and the beach from a large balcony. It was kept very clean. The food was excellent - lots of variety and consistently delicious. There was a different theme at each evening meal. The water in the pools was warm and inviting. We found the constant music at the pool area distracting and a bit tiresome."
