Although we had reserved on Expedia, when we arrived at the designated check in time, the office was closed and management were not expecting us. After calling the number posted on the door, a worker came out and called the manager. It appeared the property was closed for the season and our 3 bedroom cottage was not available . They quickly offered us an upgrade to The Villa, which was more than adequate, so they made it right. The exterior of the property had a lot of garbage(?) laying around the property and the office area was overwhelmed with “stuff”. I attributed these things to the fact that they were closing and hopefully cleaning up for the season because the interior of the Villa was nicely maintained and clean. All in all after a little hiccup checking in, the hosts made it right and we enjoyed our stay in a beautiful part of the world. Do not miss visiting the Dunes just up the road. The cottage had everything we needed to be self-sufficient. It was nice to have laundry facilities nearby. We had a few concerns, however, the managers were very responsive and met our needs. The bedroom in cottage 6 had a poster bed with a very firm mattress ( a little too firm for us); I suggest some softer pillows. The cottages are blonde to Prince Edward national park. Check out the Dunes restaurant. Charlottetown is about 12 km away and we lived the these offerings there and watermark theatre in Rustico. We loved it so much we booked to come back in a few weeks. Even thouugh there is a slight language barrier the owners were very friendly and helpful and check in was a breeze. Decor is a bit dated but the cabin was clean, taken care of, and comfortable. Really liked the location. Close to the airport, multiple beaches, great food, coffee, The Dunes (dining and art gallery), drive in theatre, Charlottetown, and even a yarn truck.
