Comfortably accommodating 5 (if necessary 6) people, it has 2 double bedrooms, 1 single bedroom (where you can if necessary accommodate 2 single beds) and 2 large bathrooms with showers, with a modern kitchen and sitting/dining area Fully equipped and very comfortable, also for long stays. Furnishings include high-quality modern furniture, fittings and new beds (beds are singles to be put together to form doubles) with top-quality orthopedic mattresses, offering all the elements for a comfortable stay - chosen for style as well as functionality. All kitchen devices are state-of-the-art: refrigerator/freezer, cooking range/oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, electric kettle and coffee-makers, utensils, washing machine, vacuum cleaner, iron and ironing board and hair dryer. Television, DVD player and internet Wi-Fi are included. Bed linen and bath/kitchen towels are provided. The apartment is in a great location – quiet and residential, steps from Via d’Azeglio which leads directly into the central Piazza Maggiore. Everything you need is within walking distance or max a short bus ride. Two well-equipped supermarkets are nearby (3 mins’walk) and“Il Quadrilatero /Mercato di Mezzo”, very picturesque food market is 5 mins’walk. All the main attractions, as well as shops, cafés, restaurants are close by on foot. Bologna's most elegant shopping district is very close by - and also the best gelato in town! Plentiful historical monuments and churches are nearby, including the beautiful square and church of San Domenico, containing works of Pisano, Michelangelo and Lippi. This is a perfect spot for walking out the door to enjoy the best that Bologna has to offer. “Giardini Margherita” (Bologna’s most famous park is close by (10 mins’walk), “S.Michele in Bosco” (nice park with a great view of the historic center from the square adjacent to the Church) is 10 mins’walk. The large beautiful “Villa Ghigi” in its park in the foothills of the Appennines is about 15 mins’walk, 5 mins by bus. The station is about 5-10 mins. by bus. In the apartment handsome details of the historic construction remain; exposed heavy timber framing and newly restored ornamental wood ceiling add generous ceiling height that lends a sense of spaciousness as well as history. Situated on the first floor of a characteristic residential building that is connected to Bologna’s iconic portico system, the apartment is reached via a generous stairway one flight up from street level. It occupies the entire south-facing street frontage on this floor and receives generous sunlight throughout the day. Equipped with double-glazed windows, shutters, and new air-conditioning and heating systems, the environment is livable and controllable year-round. The place was exactly what we had hoped for. The location was on a quiet street, but convenient for walking to the town square and also close to some very good restaurants (some of which we visited multiple times during our stay!) The apartment was extremely clean and had everything you could need (extra pillows, blankets, laundry soap, cooking spices, dishes, etc). It fit the 5 of us very comfortably. Paola was very easy to communicate with and helped us with any questions we had throughout the stay. We would definitely stay here again! ##### Lindsey S. They made themselves available to me the entire time I stayed They were there to welcome me and made the check out process very easy. If I had questions about the apartment, the city, places to run and walk, restaurants, etc. they had answers and responded right away. The property itself is in a wonderful neighborhood. It is well kept and well appointed. The only recommendation I have is a minor one. I would suggest upgrading the living room furniture so that it is a bit more comfortable. I only think this is an issue if you have an extended stay as I did (two months). The current furniture is fine, just something to consider for the future. All of historic Bologna is at your feet when you walk out the door. I felt safe and secure both in the apartment and in the neighborhood. The friends moved out over easter so we could have a brief visit from family with two grandsons. The apartment worked really well, with the two boys in the small third bedroom. Having two bathrooms was excellent. The location was perfect for us, an easy walk to Piazza Maggiore and just about anywhere in the historic centre or the gardens outside. The walk to the station is easy, but we tended to catch the bus to the station for our train excursions , which were wonderful. Paola and Ken are perfect hosts and responded quickly to any issue we may have had. We had a lot of dinners in house as two of our group love shopping at the fresh food markets and cooking up something special. The kitchen worked well.
