Vara House 1890, near the Cinque Terre

Recently renovated to meet earthquake-resistant and energy-efficient standards. Nestled in the peaceful countryside of Val di Vara, about 35 minutes from the Cinque Terre coast and Lerici, 40 minutes from Portovenere, and 1 hour from Pisa.
Just outside the village is a beach where you can take a dip in the Vara River.
Ideal for a couple or a family, it features a master bedroom (160x190 cm bed) and a bedroom with a bunk bed. Spacious terrace for relaxing.

Vara House 1890 is a very bright home, located in the peaceful Val di Vara, yet just a short distance from the Cinque Terre coastline and Portovenere, as well as famous art cities such as Pisa (about an hour) and Florence (about 1 hour and 50 minutes).
Why 1890? This is the date that was inscribed in the entryway floor, which we uncovered during the renovation work. The house is much older—dating back at least to the 1700s. According to the stories told by my grandparents and great-uncles, the original structure predates that by another three centuries.
The master bedroom has a standard Italian-size bed (160x190 cm), and the mattresses are new.
From the provincial road, the last 10–20 metres of the road are on a steeper incline. The transition between the two roads can be difficult for cars with very low ground clearance (a Volkswagen Polo climbs it easily). In that case, we recommend parking in the village and walking down a convenient flight of steps for two minutes.

The entire house is available to guests, as is the spacious terrace where you can sunbathe or watch beautiful sunsets.
The green space adjacent to the house is available for guests’ use.
