It is a wonderful old building, the lift is so original, all rooms vary so that may influence your stay. Most informative staff I ever met!!!! Helped us with free public transit & decide on what to visit. The breakfast had the largest Verity we encountered on this trip. Walking distance to everything.

Older hotel that has been updated and is in a very convenient location with the train station as easy walk or bus ride away. Lots of restaurants in the area as well. Rooms are a little small but fine for a night or two. The fan was a great addition as the heat was still on in Switzerland. Good breakfast buffet too.

The location of this hotel is close to the train station, restaurants, and the nearby attractions are all within walking distance. The bed is comfortable, breakfast is alright, not great. The bathroom is a little small, elevator is old fashion, it was out of order when we arrived, but they repaired it soon. The staffs are friendly. We were concern about the noise at night because it located among the busy streets but turned out OK.

We were originally in a room that faced out to a noisy street, but the staff were more than helpful in accommodating us in another quiet room. They were also very helpful in answering the many questions we had as first-time visitors to the lovely city of Bern. The Hotel National is a very old hotel, but the bathroom had been fully updated and the room was lovely. The included breakfast was very nice too — just what we needed to fuel our site seeing adventures!
