He said he thought i was checking in that day. There was no chain lock or way to prevent me from keeping anyone else with a key from entering. I propped a heavy crock next to the door when i was in for the rest of my nine day stay so as to make sure i heard anyone trying to enter at anytime of the day. As a solo female traveler, i take security and privacy very seriously. It was unacceptable to be startled and frightened by a stranger suddenly letting themself in. I sent a message to VRBO but i never heard back. The owner should install some sort of lock that only an occupant can engage to keep this from happening and the owner should know when the unit is occupied and not access the property when someone is paying to stay there. ##### Sherrill S.
