The interior has shown much age, the doors cannot close properly. I wasn't expecting much from the hotel, but I was still disappointed by the place. It is pretty rundown and desperately needs a facelift. Everything screamed "old", the DVD collection in the lobby could be an interesting quirky touch but in context they just dated the place. Everywhere was dark - the lobby, the restaurant, the room. The room had a slightly damp odour, the coffee facility in the room had probably not been changed for months, the water ran brown indicating it hadn't been run for a long time. None of these things were a disaster but they don't exactly deliver joy! Oh, and the electric went out for about an hour on my first morning. They also had welcome drinks and snacks provided while we were waiting to checkin. The rooms were spacious and neat. However, the aircon in both rooms were very cold, even after switching it off! The aircon control doesn't seem to work. Extra linen is chargeable on a daily basis. I had pre-arranged a shuttle pickup from the Ferry Terminal. I gave them the timing of my ferry and left them my number when they said that the driver will contact me. However, the driver did not turn up until I had to give the hotel a call to check, incurring roaming charges. Also, check-in was stated as 2pm. When we arrived at 210pm, I was informed that because I had a prior request for 2 connecting rooms, the rooms are being cleaned now and will only be available at 3pm. With no other choice, my family went for a walk and returned at 330pm, only to be told that the rooms were STILL not available. We had to wait at Mick's Pub until 4pm before being given 1 room (because the other room was STILL being prepared). We went up, after being assured that once the other room was available, the receptionist will personally come up and give me the card to the other room.
