It is an older building. The hot water wasn’t at night, but was nice and hot in the morning. The lady at the front desk is very friendly and the location is perfect! It is also quiet when you want to end the night, which is really nice. The bathroom is quite small. I was happy that there was a very small balcony to hang our wet clothing after Songkran. We arrived very late and there was someone waiting for us. The only thing is cleaning staff are noisy in the morning in the hallway and the shower flood the entire bathroom. Su was very helpful in giving directions and options of what to do, even down to the day of the week. She made sure I didn’t miss the weekend market since I arrived on a Sunday and showed me how to do a self guided walking tour of the temples. I recommend taking tuk tuks even tho things are close, it’s cheaper and easier especially when it’s really hot. I highly recommend eating at the Family which is nearby and also a hidden gem! To start I can’t complain - for the price of four nights it was a deal. The room was a little dated. Bathroom was small. There was a safe - but no directions how to use it (I wasn’t going to use it anyway). For location - it’s great. Khoa San Rd is walking distance. Very safe area. The road it’s on may seem a little sketchy but it’s very safe. The hotel entrance is what sold me - the greenery and the atmosphere was great! I had a couple of days in Bangkok before returning to Canada and wanted to visit the Grand Palace and a few other historic sights all within walking distance. Khaosan Road is only a few minutes away as well. The Sourire is small, even cozy. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was not opulent but more than enough for a short stay. I was too lazy to get up in time to take advantage of the free breakfast and my only wish would be for a kettle or coffee maker in the room. I arranged with the desk for a taxi to Suvarnibhum Airport for my early flight (600B) which got me there in good time.
