The new Museum of Acropolis, the entrance to the Parthenon and the buzzing neighborhood of Plaka are all a few steps from the doorstep. A quiet, safe and strategically located location to explore Athens on foot. The apartment's freshly renovated spaces can comfortable accommodate 4 adults. THE SPACE This newly renovated, fully furnished apartment features one bedroom with a queen bed, a spacious and cosy living room with a comfy sofa-bed, a dinning table, a brand new bathroom and a brand new fully-equipped kitchen. The apartment can accommodate comfortably up to 3 persons. However, if you are traveling with kids the sofa bed can definitely accommodate 2 kids. THE NEIGHBORHOOD Acropolis is one of the most picturesque neighborhoods in Athens. The long pedestrian street passes in front of the Acropolis, Herodeion Theater, the New Acropolis Museum and finally reaches the Hadrian Arch. It is also known as Makrigianni quarter in Athens, where the statue of Makrigiannis lies, the hero of the Greek Revolution, that is found at the beginning of this street, in a small round square. Its architectural beauty and its historical significance, make this quarter popular among tourists and a favorite spot of the Athenians to stroll around on a Sunday morning, under the Holy Rock. It borders with the picturesque neighborhood of Plaka from one side and the region of Koukaki on the other. The most famous sights in Athens are found within a walking distance from the Neighborhood. Museums include the new Acropolis Museum (2 minute walk from the apartment), the new Jewish Museum of Greece (15 min walk), the Museum of Greek Folk Art (12 min walk), an annex of which is the Old Public Baths building, the Frissiras Museum, the Museum of Popular Music Instruments, the Museum of Pavlos and Alexandra Kanellopoulou and the Athens University Museum (15 min walk). Nearby is Adrianou Street (10 min walk) which may be the oldest street in Athens still in continuous use with exactly the same layout since antiquity, that leads to the Roman Agora - Roman Forum (15 min walk) and to Thiseio. Also, Acropolis entrance is a 2 min walk from the apartment. Other remarkable sights nearby are Herodes Atticus Theatre, the Pnyx Hill, and the picturesque neighborhood with the greek island-like houses, Anafiotika. Aside from sightseeing, note that the neighborhood is full of nice cafes and bars. GETTING AROUND Metro / Underground is the most convenient mean of transit for the location. Acropoli Station is only a 2 min walk away (200 m), from where you have access to Line 2\. All Public transport (Bus and Tram) is also easily accessible from the location. Right around the corner from museum and Acropolis. Safe location with plenty of restaurants. Balcony was a great pleasure. Slight lost in translation moment. Lockbox was said to have 2 keys, one for main door and one for apartment. Only one key was in lockbox along with a blue plastic tab which turned out to be a “RFI” you hold to a sensor at the building’s door bells which opens the buildings main door magnetic lock.
