Located at the north coast of Crete, close to the small sea-side resort of Georgioupolis, between Chania and Rethymno, 500 m from a long sand beach and 2 km from the Kournas Lake, this recent house (2007), has lovely view to the Leuka Ori mountains and to the Aegean sea. Georgioupolis' Beach (within walking distance) is a 9 km long sand beach which offers wide-open spaces. It is an uncrowded beach, even in the summer time ! All along the beach, you can find snacks and tavernas which offer not only cheap and good local food but also a lot of (most of the time) free services such as sun beds, umbrellas, WC, showers, play grounds, etc. The Kournas Lake is the only sweet water lake in Crete. In this beautiful area you can observe the turtles, rent a pedal-boat, swim or enjoy the local food in one of the tavernas with a spectacular view on the lake. The village of Georgioupolis is located 2 km west. It is a small sea-side resort characterized by its small charming fishing port, its river and its eucalyptus trees. There, you will find small shops, small supermarkets, small hotels, bars, tavernas, pizzerias, etc. In spite of tourism, the village kept its old charm and its authenticity. The village of Kavros is located 1,5 km east. Big seafront hotels are predominant but you can also find small shops, supermarkets, bars, tavernas, pizzerias, etc. The place will delight guests looking for quiet seaside holidays, walks or bicycle rides in the cretan country (through the olive trees) and mountain. Ein kleines, sonniges Zuhause auf Kreta Wir haben zwei tolle Wochen in diesem kleinen Haus verbracht. Es war wunderbar, wie ein kleines Zuhause und wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Sowohl der Kontakt vorab als auch die Abwicklung vor Ort waren perfekt organisiert, der Kontakt mit den Hausbesitzern unkompliziert und sehr freundlich. Bei einem kleinen Problem mit dem WLAN vor Ort wurde in kürzester Zeit geholfen. Bei der Anfahrt hat uns Navi uns in die falsche Straße geführt hat. Unser Tipp: Haus auf Google-Maps auswählen (geht auf der Satellitenansicht ganz einfach, ggf. schon vorab Offline-Karten runterladen) und dann die Route dorthin berechnen lassen. Das Haus ist in sehr gutem Zustand, alles sehr sauber und wie in der Anzeige beschreiben. Privater, schattiger Parkplatz direkt vor der Tür. Für uns besonders erfreulich: die Utensilien in der Küche waren tatsächlich ausreichend, um für 4 hungrige Personen eine ausreichende Mahlzeit zu kochen - das haben wir auch schon anders erlebt. Genial der riesengroße Kühlschrank und der Eisschrank, in dem schon etliche Kühlpacks bereitliegen. Bitte dran denken, selbst Küchenhandtücher mitzubringen - hatten wir vergessen. Da man sich meistens im Freien aufhält: die Terrasse und der angrenzende Pool (den man sich mit 5 weiteren Häusern teilt) waren ebenfalls top. Auf der Terrasse sitzt man nah am Pool, hat aber wegen der Begrünung noch immer seinen privaten Bereich. Der Pool ist sauber (wird jeden Tag gereinigt), das Wasser hat angenehme Temperatur und auch spät am Abend kann er noch genutzt werden. Durch die Lage der Anlage sind sowohl Retymno als auch Chania sehr gut per Auto zu erreichen. Auch der Süden, (Preveli, Chora sfakion) ist noch in annehmbarer Zeit anzufahren. Zum Strand gibt es leider keinen offiziellen Weg in Luftlinie (sonst wären das 500 m) - dazwischen liegt ein umzäunter Olivenhain (manchmal ist die Tür im Zaun aber auch offen). So muss man ein wenig außen rum laufen, ist aber machbar, wenn man nicht allzu viel Gepäck hat. Zwei kleine Anregungen mögen bei so viel Lob erlaubt sein: Die Glastür zur Terrasse im 1\. OG wird vormittags sehr sehr heiß. Wenn hier mal die Gelegenheit besteht, ein Rollo außen anzubringen, würde das sicher auch die Temperatur im Inneren des Hauses etwas reduzieren. Die Holz-Stühle auf der Terrasse sind zwar sehr schön, nach ein paar Tagen aber unbequem für den Rücken. Kissen oder eine Auflage wären eine tolle Ergänzung. Damit aber erst einmal vielen Dank an unsere Vermieter!!! ##### Robert L. Jul 26, 2018 #### Entspannter Urlaub auf Kreta Wir verbrachten vom 08.07\. bis 19.07.2018 einen wundervollen Urlaub in diesem Ferienhaus. Die Ausstattung des Ferienhauses ist super, vor Allem die Küche. Uns hat es hier für den Urlaub an nicht gefehlt. Obwohl es sich hier um eine Ferienanlage mit vielen Häusern handelt, war es angenehm ruhig (auch abends). Den Pool hatten wir fast immer für uns alleine. Mit dem Auto ist man in 5 min. am Meer und kann direkt bis zum Sandstrand fahren und dort parken. Für Unternehmungen nach Chania oder Rethymno ist Georgioupoli ein super Ausgangspunkt. Ein kleines Manko gibt es allerdings. Die Stühle auf der Terasse sind nicht bequem. Man kann nicht lange auf ihnen sitzen. Deswegen auch nur 4 Sterne. The whole complex is maintained very well, it is comfortable and spacious. The ground floor patio is secluded from the pool area with some plants that gives some privacy. We stayed at the end of June so it was very quiet, we had the whole pool to ourselves. The location of the complex is very good with a short drive to local amenities and close by villages. However, without a car it would be too far to walk to the beach, especially with children. If you have a car you can more to different beach bars with wide, sandy beaches. Oct 21, 2017 #### Sehr erholsame Ferien mit vielen Ausflugsmöglichkeiten Zentral und doch nicht direkt im Trubel haben wir dieses Ferienhaus als perfektes Domizil empfunden, um zu entspannen und gleichzeitig die schönen Ausflugsziele Kretas zu erreichen. Die Anlage besteht aus terrassenförmig angelegten Reihenhäusern, von denen sich jeweils sechs einen Pool teilen. Wir hatten unseren im September für uns allein. Das Haus ist sehr gut ausgestattet und hat einen Carport, eine Terrasse und zusätzlichen einen großen Balkon. In wenigen Minuten ist man mit dem Auto am Strand oder bei den naheliegenden Geschäften, kann aber gleichzeitig die Abgeschiedenheit der ruhig gelegenen Wohnanlage genießen. Für uns war die Lage auch ein perfekter Startpunkt für zahlreiche Wanderungen, z.B. durch die Samaria-Schucht oder entlang der Südküste, die man in einer Dreiviertelstunde Fahrzeit erreicht, oder für die Besichtigung der Städte Chania oder Rethymno. Wir wurden die gesamte Zeit über und bei jedem Anliegen von unserer Vermieterin extrem gut betreut, sodass wir jederzeit wieder kommen würden. Für eine Kombination aus Erholung und Erlebnissen war dieses Haus optimal! ##### Cornelia K. Sep 8, 2017 #### Alles Prima Wir (Familie mit drei Kinder) haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt. Das Haus ist sehr schön und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Der Pool ist groß und sehr sauber. Très bien située et très confortable. La piscine est géniale ! Nous avons pu découvrir ainsi l'ouest de l'île , des paysages montagneux jusqu'aux lagons aux eaux turquoises Gramvoussa et Elafonissi : magnifique ! Chania, Réthymnon, Arkadi, moni preveli avec sa plage de palmiers, les gorges d'Imbros ... La maison correspond parfaitement aux descriptions faite par les propriétaires ! Très fonctionnelle , propre , et une très belle piscine !! Endroit très calme et parfaitement située. Grande plage à seulement 400 mètres , de nombreux restaurants , boutiques et commerces! Tout est là pour vous faire passer de bons moments Nous recommandons vivement cette maison !! Aug 7, 2015 #### Ideaal voor rustzoekers De woning ligt in het hele kleine dorpje Asproulianos wat eigenlijk te klein is om naam te mogen hebben. Kavros is het naastgelegen plaatje waar een paar winkeltjes, bars en restaurantjes zijn en vanwaar je op het strand komt. Kleinschalig, rustig maar genoeg eetmogelijkheden. Georgioupolis grenst aan de andere zijde aan Asproulianos en is leuker, levendiger en kent een groter aanbod aan restaurants, café en winkeltjes. Ook is daar een gezellig centraal plein. En het favoriete restaurant was daar: Paradise. Dagelijks werden er 6 verse gerechten bereid, een kijkje in de keuken en daarna je keuze maken. Heerlijk! Het vakantiehuis ligt rustig in een soort van resort voor buitenlanders die hier hun tweede huis hebben gekocht. Veel woningen worden daardoor permanent bewoond en een deel staat daardoor ook met regelmaat leeg. Over het algemeen wordt het bewoond en weer verhuurd door en aan Denen en af toe een Engels echtpaar. Over het algemeen was ieder erg op zichzelf en het Deense publiek is erg gesloten. Dus als je rust zoekt is het prima. Het huis was prima. Ruim genoeg. Voorzien van vaatwasser en wasmachine. En in vergelijking met de Griekse maatstaven comfortabel te noemen. Wij misten wel echt een paar lekkere stoelen op het terras, maar verder was het prima. Een aanrader voor een gezin met kinderen, die rust zoeken en even echt tijd met elkaar door willen brengen. Vanaf je eigen terras rechtstreeks naar het zwembad is ideaal natuurlijk! Wel is het noodzakelijk om direct een auto te hebben. Ein Mietauto ist dort allerdings fast ein muss, da der Weg zum Strand und zum Einkaufen doch sehr mühsam sein kann, vor allem bei über 30 Grad. Bezüglich der Ausstattung kann ich nur lobenswertes sagen. Von der Kaffeemaschine über Wasserkocher bis zum Mixgerät, alles vorhanden. Wir verbrachten entspannende Abende auf der Terrasse und wurden morgens vom "Kikeriki" des Hahnes irgendwo auf einem Feld liebevoll geweckt. Das Haus ist sehr gut ausgestattet, insbesondere auch die Küche. Die Terrasse ist überdacht und damit auch an heißen sonnigen Tagen gut nutzbar. Wenige Stufen führen direkt zum Pool, den wir die 14 Tage faktisch für uns alleine nutzen konnten. Wir hatten einen Mietwagen, so dass wir in wenigen Minuten am Strand waren. Der auf der Höhe der Ferienwohnung liegende Strand (Gyrogiali Beach) ist zwischen Georgioupolis und Kavros nach unserer Einschätzung der schönste Strand. Es gab zu jeder Tageszeit ausreichend Liegen und Sonnenschirme, alles kostenfrei. Auch ist die dortige Taverne wunderbar. Wir haben dort öfters auf der Terrasse den Sonnenuntergang genossen. Wir empfehlen auch, die Restaurant-Tipps der Vermieter (Erhalt mit den Buchungsunterlagen) zu nutzen. ##### Petra O. Votre maison est idéalement placée et très agréable, très bien agencée pour des vacances en famille. La piscine est un vrai plus et la personne qui l'entretient quotidiennement est très professionnel. Nous avons eu un temps magnifique, qui nous a permis de découvrir cette magnifique région, ses paysages grandioses, Le charme de Chania, la region de Réthymnon, la côte ouest, moni preveli et sa plage de palmiers, la campagne crétoise, les habitants toujours accueillant, la montagne et même un coin de paradis (en cette saison) le lagon de Balos , Gramvoussa. Nous remercions pour vos indications de tavernas parfaites qui nous ont permis de découvrir toutes les spécialités. En résumé de très belles vacances qui nous laissent des souvenirs plein la tête, et le découverte d'une île pleine de charme où il ferait bon vivre. Jun 12, 2013 #### Erholsames Sonnetanken auf Kreta Wir haben die Villa Oscania Ende Mai als Familie mit unserer fast dreijährigen Tochter als Feriendomizil aufgesucht. Die Zeit dort haben wirklich sehr genossen. Die Temperatuen lagen durchweg bei sonnigen 26 bis 32°C. Das Haus war so ausgestattet, dass man sich im Urlaub richtig wohl fühlen konnte. Besonders toll fanden wir den gepflegten Pool, die schön angelegte Terasse und von Vorteil war der große Kühlschrank sowie die WLAN Verfügbarkeit. Die Lage des Hauses in dieser Region eignet sich auch gut als Startpunkt zu diversen Ausflügen nach Süd- und Weskreta. Unvergesslich bleiben für uns die sommerlichen Abende auf der Terasse bei angenehmen Temperaturen bis spät in die Nacht hinein. Jun 21, 2012 #### Séjour très agréable à la Villa Oscania Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le confort et tous les équipements fonctionnels présents dans la maison , le jardin , la terrasse et la piscine. La description de la location correspond parfaitement à la réalité et toutes les surprises ne sont que positives. La propreté du logement et l'entretien général des abords et de la piscine contribuent à cette note très positive. Feb 19, 2010 #### vraiment très bien Nous (famille avec trois enfants) avons été enchantés par cette location. C'est une sorte de lotissement avec des groupes de six maisons plus ou moins mitoyennes qui ont, à chaque fois, accès à une grande piscine dédiée. Chaque maison est indépendante et bien séparée des autres. Lorsque nous y sommes allés, seulement trois des six maisons étaient occupées. C'était très agréable. La proximité immédiate de la piscine parfaitement entretenue est d'un grand intérêt, notamment avec des enfants et peut parfois dispenser de se rendre sur la plage pourtant proche.
